The Game Awards 2022 have been announced this week in a prestigious ceremony hosted by Geoff Keighley and held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, US. Amongst the biggest winner stood tall Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok.
Elden Ring bagged the prestigious Game of the Year award apart from collecting Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction and Best Role Playing awards. God of War Ragnarok, on the other hand, won the highest number of 10 out of a total of 32 awards. Other popular games such as Stray, Final Fantasy 14 Online, and Bayonetta 3 have also received awards in multiple categories.

Revealing the Game of The Year “Elden Ring”, The Game Awards 2022 official Twitter handle @thegameawards tweeted a video clip from the award night. The tweet with the video reads, “The moment you’ve all been waiting for, Game of The Year! A massive congratulations to @ELDENRING for their big win! @fromsoftware_pr #TheGameAwards.”
Apart from announcing the awards, the glamours night also had game reveals, music performances, and multiple new game announcements.
Apart from games, the Game Awards 2022 also facilitated content creators and e-sport players. While Ludwig grabbed the Content Creator of the Year award, the e-sports players award was announced in different categories.
Jacob “Yay” Whiteaker (Cloud9, Valorant) won Best Esports Athlete, Matheus “bzkA” Tarasconi (Loud, Valorant) won Best Esports Coach, and Loud (Valorant) took home the Best E-sports Team award.
The raging highlight of the evening was Santa Monica Studio’s God of War Ragnarök. Winning awards in 10 categories, God of War Ragnarök was also nominated in various categories such as Best Narrative, Best Audio Design, Best Score and Music, Best Performance, Innovation in Accessibility and Best Action/Adventure.
