Telegram has rolled out a new update packed with AI-powered sticker search and improvements to its video player. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new.
With this update, finding the perfect sticker just got a lot easier. Telegram’s AI-powered search lets users describe stickers in more natural and detailed ways, even using complex keywords like “thinking monkey” or “space dog.”
According to Telegram’s blog post (via MacMagazine), “the AI model now returns results from millions of custom stickers and emoji uploaded by Telegram users.” The feature supports 29 languages including English, Spanish, Arabic and Hindi.
Telegram reminds users that anyone can create their own stickers in just a few steps.
Telegram has also upgraded its video player with several useful features, which include the following.
Copy video links with timestamps – Now, you can share a video at an exact moment, so your friends don’t have to scroll to find it. Telegram explains the feature – “When sharing a link to a video on Telegram in chats or on other platforms, you can now include the current timestamp in the link. When someone taps on the link, it will open the video in Telegram to that exact moment.”
Video Covers in Channels – Set custom cover photos for videos in channels, making them more visually appealing. The Telegram blog says, “Like videos you add to your story, you can now choose a frame to use as a cover photo for videos you post in channels. To create exciting thumbnails, use the video editor to add text, stickers, emoji and more before selecting a cover.”
“To select a video cover, tap the three-dot icon in the top corner of the video editor and select ‘Edit Cover,” it adds.
Resume watching where you left off – The app now saves your progress, so you can close it and continue watching later without losing your spot.
The update is rolling out now to iOS users. If you haven’t already, update Telegram from the App Store to start using these new features!
