Jio services restored, gives 2 days unlimited data free to affected users

Reliance Jio network suffered a massive outage in some parts of India that was widely reported on Twitter. Affected users faced internet connectivity problems, signal issues, and more. The company has not revealed the reason behind the outage. Jio users in Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh are now receiving a message where the telco acknowledges the network issue and is offering a complementary unlimited plan. It should be noted that the complementary offer will be applied automatically affected numbers.

Tecno Camon 18, 18P with triple rear cameras launched

Tecno Camon 18 and Tecno Camon 18P have launched in the company’s Camon series. Both the new smartphones offer 20.5:9 display and carry triple rear cameras. Tecno Camon 18 and 18 P are fitted with a 6.8-inch punch-hole display. The vanilla model supports a 90Hz refresh rate, whereas the 18P variant offers a 120Hz refresh rate. Both models support a full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels. The new smartphones come in Ceramic White, Dusk Gray, and Iris Purple colors and are currently listed in Nigeria. Pricing details of the phones are yet to be revealed.

Elon Musk’s Starlink release date in India

Elon Musk-led satellite company Starlink is expected to start rolling out its broadband service in India from December next year. It will directly compete with telecom service providers like Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Idea in the country. With the arrival of this broadband service, Indian users will get high-speed data. The tech giant is working to extend broadband services in rural areas. The company will also hold talks with ministers, parliamentarians, and top government officials on the importance of broadband internet connectivity in the changing lives of rural areas.

Short video consumption to reach 650 mn users in India by 2025

Short-form video consumption is rising in India with every passing day. The country’s online video base has scaled to more than 350 million people, growing 24% over 2018 to 2020, nearly twice as fast as markets such as Indonesia and China. India has more than 50 million users who have created and posted at least one short video. The Indian short-form video market is now occupied by a mix of specialist apps like Josh, Moj, MX TakaTak, Zili, Roposo and global social media giants like Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
