POCO F4 5G Gets MIUI 14 Poco F4 is finally getting the Android 13-based MIUI 14 update in India. This also enables 5G network connectivity on Jio, as confirmed by POCO India Country Head, Himanshu Tandon on Twitter. This is the first significant upgrade for the phone that launched with dated Android 12 skin out of the box. POCO F4 is the company’s premium mid-range offering priced under Rs 30,000. The phone ships with the Snapdragon 870 SoC, a 120Hz AMOLED display and 67W fast charging support. The Android 13 update has the build number V14.0.2.0.TLMINXM and weighs around 3.5GB in size. Himanshu mentioned that the update will initially be available to beta users to collect feedback and based on the update will be rolled out to everyone in a week if there are no major issues. Xiaomi and its sub-brands (Poco and Redmi) manufacture some of the best budget and midrange smartphones that offer a great bounce for the once. However, the company falls behind when it comes to providing timely software updates. The brand has started to pick up with its MIUI 14 rollout program and released stable builds of the software to several devices in the global market. The latest smartphone to get the MIUI 14 update is the Poco F4. The handset is receiving the update in India with Jio 5G support. Let’s take a look at more details about the new POCO F4 5G Android 13 update released in India. POCO F4 Android 13 Update POCO F4 Android 13 is quite big in size coming in at 3.5GB. We advise you to take backup of all the data before proceeding with the update and also charge the phone to at least 50 percent. The changelog says the device might overheat or users may experience performance issues after the update is installed. This will happen because the phone is adapting to the new update and will become stable gradually. Furthermore, POCO says that some third-party apps aren’t fully compatible with the new Android 13 OS and that users may not be able to use them fully. Android 13 update is set to improve search in settings, visual overhaul and privacy focused changes. The MIUI 14 update also shortens the bloatware and brings the ability to uninstall more apps that come pre-installed on Xiaomi phones. This also supports large icons, which are also customisable. There is a new Photon engine that offers deeper optimisation and more. The update is expected to be widely available for all global users. Eligible devices will get the update in the coming weeks. The mid-range Poco smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM. Poco F4 comes in two stoarge options -- 128GB and 256GB. The dual SIM smartphone runs Android 13 operating system topped with the company's own layer of customisation. Poco F4 sports a triple rear camera which comprises 64MP main camera with f/1.79 aperture, 8MP ultra wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. Front is home to a 20MP selfie shooter with f/2.4 aperture. The smartphone comes equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and is backed by a 4,500 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.
