Adding a nostalgic touch, Sony has included Katakana characters on the back that spell out “PlayStation” in Japanese, a design element meant to honour the brand’s origins. The addition of the Icon Blue model further expands Sony’s DualSense colour lineup, which already includes Galactic Purple, Starlight Blue, Midnight Black, and several limited-edition game-themed variants.

Leo Cardoso, from Sony’s Colour, Material, and Finish design team, explained that the controller reflects the moments of anticipation right before the console powers on and the iconic blue light comes on.

The Icon Blue Special Edition retains all the capabilities of the standard DualSense controller. It supports haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, motion controls, a built-in microphone, and a USB-C port, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

It is compatible with PlayStation 5, as well as supported PC and mobile devices.

In other news, Sony has officially launched its WH-1000XM6 flagship headphones in India, offering premium sound quality and industry-leading active noise cancellation.
