Samsung has largely kept the fans and tech community in suspense about the Android 15-based One UI 7, until now. It seems details about the new One UI 7 have finally started surfacing from official sources. Here’s everything we know.
According to leaker Chunvn8888 on X (formerly Twitter), Samsung’s Spanish website has officially revealed some exciting features for the upcoming update. The highlight of One UI 7 is its heavy integration of AI, with Samsung promising that “AI powers every step” and introducing a “sophisticated new look.”

As per reports, the key updates include redesigned icons, a smart notification centre and a refreshed lock screen that displays ongoing activities at a glance.
Already available on recent Galaxy devices, this feature is now expanded in One UI 7. You can transform sketches into images using options like 3D Cartoon, Sketch, and Watercolor. Note that this requires a network connection and Samsung Account login along with results in resized images (up to 12MP) with a visible AI watermark.
A new way to enhance portraits, this tool uses AI to create artistic profile photos with themes like Comics, 3D Cartoons and Sketches. Similar to Sketch to Image, this also produces images up to 9MP with a watermark.
This new feature allows users to add depth and perspective to photos giving them a more dynamic feel.
Samsung is also introducing child safety features for app purchases, requiring permission from guardian accounts for children’s accounts.
The One UI 7 page mentions Circle to Search, Live Translate and AI Zoom, all of which already exist in One UI 6.1.1. Similarly, the Energy Score feature, seen in the One UI 6 Watch update, makes an appearance but isn’t exclusive to One UI 7.
Galaxy AI features will be available free of charge on compatible Samsung devices until the end of 2025, with a broader rollout starting in Q4 2024. However, availability depends on the features and supported models.

Meanwhile, Samsung’s UK website also reveals that the DeX app for Windows has now been discontinued.
DeX lets all Samsung Galaxy smartphone owners project their device’s screen onto a PC window. The “Desktop eXperience” feature also allows easy file transfer between the two devices.
However, a recent Gizmochina report revealed that a footnote on Samsung’s DeX page now says “The DeX for PC on Windows OS will end support from the One UI 7 version. We encourage customers to connect mobile phones and PC through the Link to Windows feature.”
Gizmochina report specifies, “It’s worth noting that only the Windows app is being discontinued. DeX itself remains available to connect directly to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, allowing users to enjoy a desktop-like setup. However, for those accustomed to the Windows app, this change may disrupt familiar workflows.”
While the full details are still under wrap as its official launch still pending, this glimpse offers a lot to look forward to.
