Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, secured record pre-bookings for its fifth generation foldable devices launched recently.

Samsung has secured the spot of the top-selling foldable device every year. The same has continued till the Fold 4 and Flip 4.
As compared to the fourth generation foldables (Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4), Samsung received 1.7x (1.7 times) pre-bookings for Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 during the first 28 hours, reflecting the growing confidence of Indian consumers in the foldable category.
In India, pre-bookings for Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 opened on July 27, 2023. The devices will go on sale from August 18, 2023.

Customers pre-booking Galaxy ZFlip5 will get benefits worth INR 20000 and those pre-booking Galaxy Z Fold5 will get benefits worth INR 23000.

Samsung expects the market to grow further as more people explore the potential of folding phones.
Currently, the company has sold around 3,00,000 foldable phones in India since the Fold One.
According to Samsung, the Flip Series has recorded 70% more bookings than the Fold Series in Korea.
A similar pattern has been witnessed in other markets where the Flip appears to be dominating the fold.
