Samsung is expected to announce a bunch of new devices during its next Galaxy Unpacked event. Some of those devices include the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.

While some rumors claim the company will skip the unveiling of the Galaxy Buds 3, it looks like the company will unveil the Galaxy SmartTag 2.

The company’s next-generation object location tracker, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 (EI-T5600), has been spotted in the Bluetooth SIG database (via MySmartPrice).

The location tracker has passed the Bluetooth certification test, and the documents reveal that it will feature a newer version of Bluetooth (v5.3). In comparison, the first-generation Galaxy SmartTag features Bluetooth 5.1 (with LE).

So, the newer location tracker will feature a more stable connection and improved battery life.

Bluetooth 5.3 features various features to improve power efficiency, stability, and security. Devices using Bluetooth 5.3 can switch between high-power and low-power states faster, which means that when the device isn’t being actively used, it will sip less power.

It also helps the wireless connection to be more stable even when the area has a lot of interference (through other RF connections).

The Galaxy SmartTag is already a good location tracker, and the upcoming Galaxy SmartTag 2 from Samsung could feature even improved performance.
We would like to see the Galaxy SmartTag 2 with a higher volume buzzer, UWB, and improved IP rating for better protection against dust and water.

Samsung introduced its first object tracker, the Galaxy SmartTag alongside the Galaxy S21 series back in 2021.
Later in April 2021, the South-Korean smartphone maker also unveiled the Galaxy SmartTag+ with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology.

Now, it appears that the first-generation Galaxy SmartTag would be getting a successor soon. The reason for this is that we at MySmartPrice have now spotted the Galaxy Smart Tag2 on the Bluetooth SIG certification website.

While the launch date of this upcoming object tracker remains unknown, we can expect it to debut at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event which is set to take place by the end of July.

The Bluetooth SIG certification has listed the Galaxy Smart Tag2 with model number EI-T5600. The certification confirms the moniker as the Galaxy Smart Tag2.
Furthermore, it also mentions that this upcoming Smart Tag2 will have Bluetooth v5.3 support.

Currently, the specifications and other details of this upcoming object tracker remain unknown. Additionally, the launch date details of the Galaxy Smart Tag2 remain under wrap.

However, considering that Samsung is introducing the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Buds 3, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series at next month’s event, we also might see the launch of the Smart Tag2 at the same event.

As mentioned above, Samsung first introduced the Galaxy SmartTag back in 2021. The Galaxy SmartTag is part of Samsung’s SmartThings ecosystem and it comes in two variants.

Ans) According to our information, Samsung will launch the second-generation Galaxy SmartTag lineup in Q3 2023.
