Samsung has expanded the capabilities of its Galaxy AI Live Translate feature to support popular third-party applications.
This development was announced alongside the unveiling of the new Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 foldable phones.
Previously, Live Translate was limited to Samsung’s native Phone app, allowing real-time translation of phone calls in different languages.
The company has now confirmed that this functionality will be gradually extended to other messaging platforms and third-party apps.
While specific apps have not been named, WhatsApp is expected to be among the first to receive support for Live Translate.
There are also indications that various Google services, such as Google Meet, might be integrated with the feature in the future.
Samsung has committed to expanding language support for Live Translate.
The company aims to support 16 languages by the end of July and increase this to 20 by year-end.
This expansion is intended to make the AI advancements accessible to a broader range of Galaxy users.
The integration of Live Translate with third-party apps is likely to be rolled out through incremental software and app updates.
Foldable phones and tablets are expected to receive this functionality with the One UI 6.1.1 update.
In addition to the new foldable phones, Samsung also debuted the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, which sport the company’s first 3nm Exynos CPU, during the recent Unpacked event.
The Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Buds 3 series were also introduced by the corporation.
Galaxy smartphones now have various new AI functions thanks to One UI 6.1.1.
One of the most notable of them is Sketch to Image, which converts basic sketches into intricate pictures with realistic additions and graphic features.
Composer is an additional feature that has been incorporated into the Keyboard app.
It helps users create text content by using specified keywords.
