Redmi has officially introduced the Redmi Turbo 5 in India, marking the debut of the company’s Turbo smartphone series in the country. Designed for gaming enthusiasts and power users, the new handset combines a high-performance chipset with a large battery and advanced cooling technology. Here’s everything you need to know about the newly launched Redmi smartphone.
Redmi Turbo 5 – Price and Availability in India

The Redmi Turbo 5 is available in two memory configurations. The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is priced at Rs 35,999, while the 12GB RAM + 256GB model costs Rs 38,999.
These introductory prices are valid for a limited period and are accompanied by instant bank discounts of up to Rs 2,000 on select credit cards from SBI, ICICI Bank, and Axis Bank.
The smartphone will go on sale starting June 19 at 12 PM through Amazon.in, mi.com, and authorised retail outlets.

Buyers can choose from Turbo White, Nitro Blue, and Asphalt Black colour options.
Redmi Turbo 5 – Key Features
The Redmi Turbo 5 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1268 x 2756 pixels. The display is designed to deliver sharp visuals and smooth animations, whether users are gaming, scrolling through apps, or watching multimedia content.
The handset measures 157.5 x 75.2 x 8.2mm, making it relatively compact despite housing a large battery. The device weighs over 200 grams, which is understandable given its battery capacity.

The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset. The processor is paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and as much as 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. While real-world performance testing is yet to be conducted, the hardware configuration suggests that the smartphone is aimed at users seeking strong gaming, multitasking, and overall performance capabilities.
According to Redmi, the Turbo 5 achieves an AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding 20 lakh points placing it ahead of several competitors in the segment. The smartphone incorporates a large 5,300mm² vapour chamber cooling system designed to keep temperatures under control during prolonged gaming sessions and heavy workloads.
On the software side, the Redmi Turbo 5 ships with Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out of the box.
One of the standout features of the Redmi Turbo 5 is its 7,540mAh battery. The large battery is expected to appeal to gamers, frequent travellers, and users who prioritise long-lasting battery life. The smartphone also supports 100W HyperCharge technology allowing quick battery top-ups and reduced charging downtime.

For photography, the Redmi Turbo 5 comes with a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The inclusion of OIS is expected to help reduce blur in photos and videos, particularly in low-light conditions, while the ultra-wide lens offers greater flexibility for capturing landscapes and group shots.
On the front, the smartphone features a 20MP selfie camera designed for video calls and social media photography.
The rear camera module includes multi-colour accent LED pixel matrix rings. These lights can be customised for various functions including incoming call alerts, charging status, media playback, and gaming notifications. Apart from enhancing the phone’s aesthetics, the LED system also serves as a useful notification indicator when the device is placed face down.
In terms of durability, Redmi has equipped the device with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for resistance against water and dust. This makes the phone capable of handling challenging environments and accidental exposure to the elements.
