Redmi has recently been stirring excitement with teasers for its newest smartphone launch in China.
While there had bee speculation, anticipating the arrival of the Redmi Note 13 Turbo, in a surprising turn of events, Redmi has unveiled not just a new phone but an entire series: the Redmi Turbo 3 series.
Redmi Brand’s General Manager Wang Teng Thomas said: Performance is the starting point of all experiences and has always been the strongest appeal of young users. Today, we bring a new performance series – Turbo, codenamed “Little Tornado”, which will set off a whirlwind of popularizing flagship performance and reshape the mid-range performance landscape.
This is our first mission of the new decade, a whirlwind start to the new Turbo series. In the past two years, we have experienced great success in exploring two generations of performance products, Note 11T Pro and Note 12 Turbo. The first product of the new series is named “Turbo 3” and will be equipped with the new Snapdragon 8 series flagship core. As a top performer, it will lead the industry’s mid-range performance leap.
The announcement came with the reveal of the “Redmi Note Turbo 3” name for the upcoming device, marking the birth of the Turbo lineup.
The handset is rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor.
This chipset is considered a “Lite” variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, promising to deliver substantial performance without the high-end price tag.
It would also appear that the Turbo series is being positioned as Redmi’s new-generation performance flagship.
This lineup is specifically designed to shake up the mid-range segment by providing users with unparalleled performance capabilities at a price point that’s accessible to a broader audience.
Last year’s Turbo-branded model, the Redmi Note Turbo 12, was part of the Note series.
Now, moving forward, Turbo-branded phones will form their own distinct lineup.
The Note series will continue its legacy of mid-range devices, focusing on bringing flagship features to a wider audience at an affordable price.
On the other hand, the K-lineup will remain at the pinnacle of Redmi’s offerings, featuring high-end phones that provide flagship performance and premium features.
The numbered series, known for its entry-level phones, will be positioned below the Note lineup, ensuring that Redmi has options available for every budget and requirement.
The Redmi Turbo 3 is slated for a debut in China later this month, with enthusiasts eagerly awaiting its arrival.
Moreover, the same device is expected to be rebranded in the global market under the Poco brand as the Poco F6.
The F6 and its Pro variant, which will likely incorporate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, are anticipated to launch globally in May.
