The new Realme P1 has been making waves for packing some impressive specs at a killer price point starting at just Rs 14,999.
We’re talking an AMOLED display, blazing-fast UFS 3.1 storage, and a powerful MediaTek chipset – specs you’d expect to find on pricier phones.
In fact, Realme built this one from the ground up with “P” standing for performance.
But does it really punch above its weight class?
To find out, we pit it against the Rs 18,999 Lava Blaze Curve in a head-to-head performance showdown. (All testing and benchmark details provided by 91mobiles).
While both pack the same MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chip, the Blaze Curve surprisingly edged out higher single and multi-core Geekbench scores.
Those numbers suggest it might handle demanding tasks a tad more efficiently under heavy loads.
However, the tables turned in the AnTuTu benchmark testing CPU and GPU muscle.
Here, the Realme P1 scored higher overall, while also proving more efficient – consuming just 5% battery compared to 10% on the Blaze Curve, though it did run hotter.
To really stress them out, the 91mobiles team fired up the Burnout throttling test simulating prolonged heavy use.
The Lava phone proved more consistent at maintaining peak performance over time while better managing its thermals.
It seems that Lava has cracked the thermal output game better than Realme although at this budget price point, you are hardly going to do extreme performance tasks that can throttle down the CPU.
For real-world testing, 91mobiles used some graphic-intensive games like BGMI. Both could hit that sweet 120Hz refresh rate with HDR enabled and played games smoothly.
But after 30 minutes, the Blaze Curve came out ahead – sipping less battery at 6% versus 7% on the Realme while running just a hair cooler.
Clearly the Realme is not stressed by the graphics on offer but the Lava Blaze Curve, as demanded by its pricetag, is just a better device to play heavy-duty games on.
So based on 91mobiles’ rigorous testing across benchmarks and actual gaming, the higher-priced Lava Blaze Curve consistently exhibited a slight performance edge over Realme’s affordable powerhouse.
Of course, there are other factors to weigh too – the Realme rocks a higher-res 64MP main camera compared to 50MP on the Lava.
It also ships with Android 14 out of the box instead of 13, offers faster 45W charging to the Lava’s 33W, and retains the 3.5mm headphone jack.
But if raw performance is your top priority in this price range, the Lava Blaze Curve seems to hold a modest yet measurable advantage based on these test results from the 91mobiles team.
Solid value from both, but the Blaze gets the performance crown.

Both smartphones are equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, yet the Lava Blaze Curve registers slightly higher in Geekbench scores, indicating better single and multi-core performance.
The Realme P1 outperformed the Lava Blaze Curve in AnTuTu benchmarks, highlighting stronger GPU capabilities and better overall system performance.
In prolonged high-intensity tests, the Lava Blaze Curve showed superior ability to maintain performance without significant thermal throttling compared to the Realme P1.
In real-world gaming tests, the Lava Blaze Curve demonstrated better battery management and slightly cooler operation, making it a better choice for extended gaming sessions.
The Realme P1 boasts a 64MP camera, ships with Android 14, and offers faster 45W charging, whereas the Lava Blaze Curve focuses on delivering solid performance with a robust build.
The Realme P1 5G distinguishes itself with a potent combination of a high-performance MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, a vibrant 6.67-inch AMOLED display, and a robust 5000mAh battery with 45W SUPERVOOC charging.
These features are packaged in a sleek design, offering substantial value in the budget smartphone segment.
The Realme P1 5G is equipped with a 50MP primary camera that excels in capturing sharp and vibrant images under good lighting conditions.
However, it lacks an ultra-wide lens, which limits its versatility compared to competitors. The macro and nighttime photography capabilities could also be improved to enhance the overall camera utility.
The device features a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering fluid and crisp visuals.
The display’s high peak brightness level of up to 2000 nits ensures good visibility even in bright conditions, although it lacks HDR support which is becoming more common in similar price ranges.
Thanks to its MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor and up to 16GB of dynamic RAM, the Realme P1 5G handles everyday tasks and moderate gaming smoothly.
However, for more graphics-intensive games, settings may need to be adjusted for optimal performance, as the device can struggle with high-end gaming demands.
While the Realme P1 5G offers many advantages, it does have some drawbacks, including the absence of an ultra-wide camera and effective low-light photography features.
Additionally, the presence of bloatware might detract from the user experience, and its fast-charging speed, while quick, is not the fastest available in this market segment.
The Lava Blaze Curve 5G sets itself apart with its sophisticated design elements, incorporating a matte-finish dark grey back and what Lava terms as Iron Glass. This unique combination not only gives the device a flagship-like appearance but also enhances its durability.
The ergonomically curved display is not just a visual treat but also makes the device more comfortable to hold and use, elevating the overall user experience.
The Lava Blaze Curve 5G is equipped with a triple camera setup, headlined by a 64MP primary sensor that excels in capturing detailed and vibrant photos under varied lighting conditions.
While the device shines in daylight photography, producing images with rich details and colors, it also holds its own in low-light scenarios, thanks to its dedicated low-light mode that intelligently enhances images.
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, the Lava Blaze Curve 5G delivers commendable performance across a variety of applications, from day-to-day tasks to more demanding workloads.
However, when it comes to gaming, especially high-end titles, the device is best experienced at medium graphics settings to maintain smooth gameplay at 60fps. This balance ensures that users can enjoy a good gaming experience without encountering significant frame drops or stutters.
The Lava Blaze Curve 5G offers a clean and user-friendly software experience, running on Android 13.0 OS devoid of bloatware and unnecessary apps.
This not only ensures faster browsing and smoother operation but also enhances the device’s security and reliability with the promise of two Android upgrades and three years of security updates.
The availability of app cloner functionality and customizable themes further enriches the user experience by allowing for personalisation and efficient multitasking.
The battery life of the Lava Blaze Curve 5G is a key highlight, with its 5000mAh capacity providing 5-6 hours of screen-on time, which comfortably supports a day’s worth of moderate to heavy usage.
The true 33W fast charging capability means the device can be quickly recharged in just over an hour, minimizing downtime and ensuring users stay connected and productive.
