Realme will launch its next-gen GT Neo series smartphone, the Realme GT Neo 5, on February 9th in China.
Prior to the launch, the brand has constantly been teasing the specifications, features, and the design of the device.
The Realme GT 3 will succeed last year’s GT 2. OnLeaks recently shared the retail box image of the Realme GT 3, which reveals the smartphone will support 240W fast charging.
This might suggest that the GT 3 will be rebranded Realme GT Neo 5 for the global market.
However, this is just an assumption and the company is yet to reveal any details on this matter.
As seen in the pictures above, the Realme GT Neo 5 will feature a 144Hz refresh rate AMOLED display with a centrally-aligned cutout for the selfie camera.
The device appears to have pretty minimal bezels, but we might have to wait for the actual device images in order to be able to judge better.
Moving on, the brand has confirmed that the Realme GT Neo 5 will sport a 1.5K panel.
The device will have 1,500Hz touch sampling rate, 2,160Hz PWM, and will come with features like O-Sync 3.0, LS Touch, and HyperTouch.
The device could have 12GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 4.0 RAM. The Realme GT Neo 5 display is also SGS certified.
The Realme GT Neo 5 5G is confirmed to feature a flagship camera sensor. The phone will feature a Sony IMX890 50MP primary camera.
The same sensor is featured in the Oneplus 11, OnePlus 11R, OPPO Find N2 series and could also be possibly used in the OPPO Find X6 5G.
While the camera sensor is the same, the actual performance could vary depending on the optimisation of the sensor with the ISP and other hardware.
Software optimisation and tuning will also play a key role to churn out the best details and performance of the sensor. The GT Neo 5 5G is confirmed feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
The company also revealed that the device’s primary camera will come with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS). There will also be support for shooting RAW photos.
The device is confirmed to feature a triple-camera setup on the back. Along with the 50MP main camera, the phone is likely to feature an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. The device is also likely to feature a 16MP front camera sensor.
On the front, the device is likely to sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and support for a 144Hz refresh rate. The device will also support 2160Hz PWM Dimming and offer support for a billion colours. In addition to this, there is an IR blaster, a USB Type-C port and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Under the hood, the device will be powered by a Snapdragon8+ Gen 1 processor, which could be paired with up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. In terms of battery and fast charging, there will be two fast charging and battery models of the Realme GT Neo 5.
While the 5,000mAh battery variant of the device will feature 150W fast charging support, the other variant, with a slightly smaller 4600mAh battery, will be the first in the world to sport a whopping 240W fast charging support.
In terms of cameras, we can expect the Realme GT Neo 5 to house a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 16MP selfie snapper. The phone will also come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Lastly, the Realme GT Neo 5 will boot the latest Android 13-based Realme UI 4.0 skin out of the box.
The phone is expected to launch in multiple colour options but Realme has only teased the Purple colour variant as of now. The phone is also launch later this year in India. Although, it is unclear when exactly will be see the GT Neo 5 in India. Realme should announce the launch date soon after the phone is unveiled in China.
