Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) is producing most of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets with the promising 3 nanometer technology that will prove to be a gamechanger in the market.
At the moment, the much awaited Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC chipsets for smartphones will be launched around early to mid-2023 for which many users are excited to try out the new chip model that will be a prominent one among Samsung‘s flagships.
Motorola Razr 3 specs update: Will come packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is an awaited chipset in 2023 that will come equipped with different Samsung flagship models, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is being worked upon by TSMC with the help of the promising 3 nanometer technology for which Samsung is doing its best.
It goes without saying that Qualcomm teams are working extremely hard on the follow-up of the chipsets as recent reports have confirmed that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will begin production by the end of 2023.
As TSMC has been given the responsibility for the future manufacturing of the chip, the company’s new method of production in 3 nanometer would succeed 80% of the time, while the iPhone 15 chip too will be using the same method for manufacturing.
TSMC stands to gain in this regard as it will be allowed to create both chipsets without having to put a cap on inventories. It was Samsung that first declared the arrival of 3nm manufacturing technology in July 2022 and gained an edge over TSMS by making a statement.
However, it needs to be kept in mind that Samsung‘s contribution in the production of 3nm is only around 10-20%, due to which it is very likely for Qualcomm to employ this production method as a supplement to chip inventories.
TSMC is the only manufacturer in the market that has the capacity to provide Apple, Nvidia, Qualcomm, AMD with most of its processors from the newer generation because there is no opposition from Samsung and other competitors.
TSMS also has the advantage of setting prices as it sees fit due to the technologies required for production being of cutting-edge quality are extremely costly to produce.
