In the Made by Google event, Google introduced upgraded versions of its Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds. The launch of the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2 came on the side of the Google Pixel 9 series launch.
The latest Pixel Watch 3 comes with a new Actura display.
It offers up to 34 hours of battery life and advanced fitness features to provide complete smartwatch benefits.
At the same time, we are getting the Pixel Buds Pro 2 making an appearance. It offers better noise cancellation and new features compared to its predecessors.
Let’s take a look at what the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Watch 3 have in store for us.
The Google Pixel Watch 3 has been launched in two sizes — 41mm and 45mm.
Both sizes feature Google’s Actua display. It is a decent update from the AMOLED screen used in the previous Google watch model.
Pixel Watch 3 is equipped with technology that provides a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. This is more than twice as bright as the previous model. It can dim down to just 1 nit in dark settings.
The bezels are also over 16 per cent thinner compared to the previous version.
Google highlights that the Pixel Watch 3 allows users to plan detailed running routines and track metrics like cadence, stride length, and vertical oscillation. It also introduces new features for readiness and cardio load tracking, helping users focus on their recovery.
The Loss of Pulse Detection feature is also a first-of-its-kind feature on Pixel Watch 3.
It detects loss of pulse and automatically places a call to emergency services, potentially saving lives.
Google explains in its blog, “Loss of Pulse Detection combines signals from Pixel Watch 3’s sensors, AI and signal-processing algorithms to detect loss of pulse events, with a thoughtful design — built from user research — to limit false alarms.
The feature uses signals from the Pixel Watch 3’s existing Heart Rate sensor, which uses green light to check for a user’s pulse.”
Fitbit users will benefit from the Morning Brief feature, which offers a summary of health information, including any overnight changes in key metrics.
The Pixel Watch 3 maintains the same battery life as its predecessor, providing up to 24 hours of use with the always-on display mode enabled.
However, with the battery-saver mode on, the watch can last up to 36 hours.
The 41mm variant of the Pixel Watch 3 charges 20 per cent faster than the second-generation model.
Google’s new Pixel Watch 3 is coming with a nice perk for LTE buyers, with each model getting two years of free LTE data with purchase.
Google mentions, “Get 2 years of data for your smartwatch on us when you buy any Pixel Watch 3 (4G LTE).
Data from Google Fi Wireless to power your messaging, navigation, and music on the go.
One Google Fi Wireless data offer per purchase of Pixel Watch 3 41mm with 4G LTE or Pixel Watch 3 45mm with 4G LTE.
Texting at no extra cost, but requires an active wireless phone plan.”
The latest Pixel Buds Pro 2 are the first true wireless earbuds from Google featuring the Tensor A1 chip. Google during the event claimed that this chip processes audio at speeds 90 times faster than the speed of sound.
These Buds Pro 2 offers twice the effectiveness in active noise cancellation (ANC) compared to the original Pixel Buds Pro.
The earbuds also come with Google’s Silent Seal 2.0 technology, which is designed to cancel out noise at higher frequencies.
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are equipped with 11mm dynamic drivers, and Google says the Tensor A1 chip optimizes music playback through a dedicated signal path.
The earbuds also have updated algorithms to enhance the Clear Calling feature, which reduces background noise during phone calls.
They also support seamless audio switching between Pixel devices, including the Pixel Watch.
The Conversation Detection feature automatically pauses media and activates transparency mode when you start talking, and then re-enables ANC and resumes playback once the conversation is over.
The earbuds also integrate with Google’s Find My Device network, allowing you to locate them on a map and ring the earbuds or charging case when they’re nearby.
