Aims to enhance group coordination and organization.
WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that makes it easier for groups to plan events right within their chats, as reported by MacRumors.
This new event planning feature allows users to organize events, meetings, and social gatherings directly in a group chat.
It aims to make it more convenient to coordinate plans with friends, family, or colleagues.
Back in May, WhatsApp updated its Android app to look more like the iOS version and introduced a feature called Communities.
Communities let people with shared interests create groups and plan meet-ups using a tool called Events.
Initially, this event planning tool was only available to Community groups. However, WhatsApp has now expanded this feature, so anyone in a group chat can use it to organize events.

With this new feature, you can create a calendar event in WhatsApp, which can then be added to your phone’s calendar or kept within the app.
This integration helps users keep track of their plans and ensures that everyone in the group is on the same page.
WhatsApp’s group feature has long been popular for connecting people, whether for casual chats, work-related discussions, or organizing activities.
The addition of the event planning tool enhances this functionality.
It adds a better way to manage schedules and plan gatherings without leaving the app.
Users can now set dates, times, and details for events, making it easier to stay organized and ensure that everyone knows the plan.
How Does the New Event Planning Feature Work?
WhatsApp says, events it’s now easier for people to plan their get-togethers directly
The Events can be set up by pressing the “+” button in the chat group.
You can then select Event and create a name, description, start date, location and call link for virtual meetings.
A notification is sent to group members once an event is created.
While launching the tool in May, WhatsApp mentioned how it would get easier for group members to have events together due to this feature.
“With events it’s now easier for people to plan their get togethers directly in WhatsApp, whether it’s setting up a virtual meeting or birthday dinner. Anyone can create an event and others can respond so the whole group knows who is coming. Guests can also find the event in the group’s information page, and those going will get an automatic notification when it’s getting close” WhatsApp described.
WhatsApp has said that the feature will roll out to users progressively over the coming weeks.
However, we checked and it isn’t available on any major smartphone as of yet.
Overall, this update makes WhatsApp even more useful for group communication and coordination.
Whether you’re planning a birthday party, a work meeting, or a casual get-together, the new event planning feature simplifies the process and helps keep everyone in the loop.

This allows for large-scale coordination and communication within the community.
Tim Cook hinted that Apple Intelligence will be a major draw for iPhone 16 upgrades.
All iPhone 16 models will feature 8GB of RAM, making them compatible with Apple Intelligence, unlike the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus.
A Chinese news outlet suggests the iPhone 16 series might be announced on September 10.
Bloomberg’s Gurman confirms the September launch despite the delay in rolling Apple Intelligence.
After Apple released its earnings report on Thursday, CEO Tim Cook joined a conference call with Wall Street analysts and some media folks.
When asked about how many people might upgrade to the iPhone 16 series, Cook kept quiet about the numbers.
However, he did mention that Apple’s new AI, called Apple Intelligence, is compelling enough to encourage users of older iPhones to consider upgrading.
“I would just say that with Apple Intelligence, we are very excited about the level of value that we’re going to provide to users, and we believe that that presents another reason for a compelling upgrade,” said Tim Cook during a post-earnings report call with the media.
Apple Intelligence Will Be Built into your Latest iPhones, iPads and Macs
Apple’s AI needs at least 8GB of RAM to function. Currently, only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max meet this requirement.
But this year, all four new iPhone 16 models—iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max—will come with 8GB of RAM, making them compatible with Apple Intelligence.
If you have an iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Plusand want to try out Apple’s latest AI features, you’ll need to upgrade to an iPhone 16 model, as those are the only ones supporting the new tech.
iPhone 16 Launch Date Leaked?
All iPhone 16 models will feature 8GB of RAM, making them compatible with Apple Intelligence
Amidst all the buzz regarding iPhone 16 series leaks and speculations, a Chinese news outlet has claimed to know exactly when the new series will be out.
CNMO Technology News from China claims the iPhone 16 will be revealed on September 10.
This date makes sense since Apple often holds its iPhone launch eventson Tuesdays, like last year’s event on September 12.
However, CNMO’s track record with predictions isn’t well-known, so take this information with a grain of salt.
It’s possible they’re just making an educated guess.
September 10 is Tuesday, which is Apple“s favorite day for launching its iPhones.
Last year Apple launched the iPhone 15 series on September 12, which was also a Tuesday.
Only the iPhone 14 series didn’t follow trend in 2022 and launched on a Wednesday.
four models, including the iPhone 16 Ultra, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, are expected to go on sale starting September 20.

“Apple Intelligence — a core feature of the iPhone 16 — won’t be ready until October. This time, though, Apple is taking a different tack and won’t hold back the new hardware until the services are ready. I’m told that the iPhone launch will occur around the same time as last year,” said Gurman.
In another update, we have Bloomberg’s technology journalist Mark Gurman reporting that Apple won’t be delaying the release of the new iPhone 16 models even though Apple Intelligence has been confirmed to be not launching until October.
It looks like Apple is not holding back and will be going on with the iPhone 16 September launch.
Last week, Apple Intelligence was updated to iOS 18.1, which means it didn’t make it into the initial iOS 18 release in September.
This new feature is expected to be a major draw for the upcoming iPhone 16 models.
The beta version of Apple Intelligence also rolled out last week, including some initial features like Writing Tools and Memory Generation for Photos.
It also introduced a new Siri interface, but many of the Siri upgrades and the ChatGPT integration are not available yet.
Other notable features like Genmoji and Image Playground are also not included in this beta version.
According to Apple’s report, iPhone salesbrought in $39.3 billion for the three-month period ending June 29, down 1% from $39.7 billion for the same period in 2023.
At the same time, Tim Cook said in a conversation with analysts and journalists that the 15th series sold better than the 14th series over the same period.
iPhone 16 Launch – What We Know So Far
iPhone 16 series will probably feature the A17 Pro chip
The iPhone 16 series is expected to launch in early September.
The starting price for the iPhone 16 is anticipated to be $799 / £799 / AU$1,499.
There will likely be four models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The design should be similar to the iPhone 15, but with an Action button on all models and possibly a dedicated camera button.
The iPhone 16 series will probably feature the A17 Pro chip or the newer A18 Pro chip.
RAM is expected to be 8GB, with storage options starting at 256GB and going up to 1TB for the Pro models.
The camera hardware for the standard and Plus models may remain the same, but the iPhone 16 Pro Max could see significant upgrades.
Battery improvements are anticipated, with hardware changes and software optimizations expected.

Q6. iPhone 16 Still Coming in September Despite Delayed Apple Intelligence Rollout. Details ?
Answer. Apple will launch the iPhone 16 series within its traditional September timeframe this year, despite Apple Intelligence set to be absent in the first public release of iOS 18.
Writing in his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman says his sources tell him that the iPhone launch will occur around the same time as last year, with Tuesday, September 10 suggested as a possible launch day candidate.
Apple will ship the new iPhone lineup with its latest iOS 18 operating system, but users will not get Apple’s initial set of AI features, collectively dubbed Apple Intelligence, until the release of iOS 18.1 a few weeks later in October.
Apple and its investors are counting on Apple Intelligence to be a major draw that will attract new and upgrading iPhone customers, particularly since only the Pro models in the current iPhone 15 lineup are capable of powering the new features. But the company is not about to delay the launch of the iPhone 16 series just to coincide with the availability of Apple Intelligence.
Gurman notes that ahead of the 2011 launch of the iPhone, Apple did choose to postpone the device’s release from its then-usual June timing to October, in order to align it with the availability of iCloud and Siri, which were new online services at the time.
This year, however, Gurman does not see the delayed arrival of Apple Intelligence as being a big enough issue to change Apple’s hardware launch plans, especially given that the tools that will be rolled out first aren’t particularly game-chaining on their own.
Apple Intelligence features in the iOS 18.1 beta include Writing Tools for proofreading, rewriting, and summarizing text, a new Siri interface with Type to Siri, Mail and Messages app improvements like summarizing emails and Smart Reply, phone call recording, and audio transcription in Notes and other apps, and more.
Some of the more significant and compelling Apple Intelligence features that Apple plans to introduce at a later date include Image Playground, Genmoji, ChatGPT integration with Siri, priority notifications, and several other additions.

Google is launching a new weather app with the Pixel 9.
The app includes a temperature display and customizable weather detail cards.
There are no animations.
Initially preloaded on the Pixel 9.
Google is set to introduce a new weather app alongside the upcoming Pixel 9, according to media reports.
This is quite surprising given that Google had just redesigned its weather section in the Google app last year.
The new app will be part of the existing Pixel Weather app, which has so far been used only for weather information in the clock app.
Google’s New Weather App for Pixel 9
Initially, it will come preloaded on the Pixel 9, but it will also be available for older Pixel phones eventually.
Some media outlets have been able to test a non-final version of the app, which may change before the official release, but it gives a good idea of what to expect.
How does the New Weather App Look Like?
The main element on the screen is the current temperature
The app features a simple gradient background that changes colour based on the current weather.
The main element on the screen is the current temperature, displayed in bold with an icon showing the weather conditions instead of the degree symbol.
Below the temperature, there are cards with all the usual weather details: hourly and 10-day forecasts, humidity, sunrise and sunset times, wind speed, air quality index (AQI), visibility, UV index, and pressure.
The app includes a temperature display and customizable weather detail cards
A new feature allows users to reposition these cards (except for the hourly forecast) by holding and moving them around.
Tapping on the 10-day forecast opens a similar interface with fewer elements and fixed-position cards.
New vs current weather app
The location selection screen is simple, focusing more on the current weather and temperature than the previous design.
One notable absence in the new app is animations.
A new feature allows users to reposition these cards (except for the hourly forecast)
The version we tested didn’t have any animations in the cards or backgrounds, unlike the current weather app.

The regular Tab S10 is noticeably missing, indicating that Samsunghas decided to drop it.

Even after six months, there’s still no sign of the regular Tab S10 in the database, making it clear that it won’t be released.

Why is Samsung Discontinuing Regular Tab S10?
Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Series with Dimensity 9300+ Chip Set to Rival Apple’s iPad
One reason could be the popularity of the Ultra series, first introduced with the Tab S8 series and continued with the Tab S9.
Another factor might be the minimal differences between the regular and Plus models, making the regular version seem unnecessary.
Moreover, Apple’s strategy of releasing only two models, like the iPad Pro, might have also influenced Samsung’s decision.
