Well, it appears some behind-the-scenes changes are taking place in the smartphone industry. As per recent reports, Poco will soon shut down its official Poco website (po.co) and all its regional sites (like /global, /uk, and /fr).

It might sound alarming initially but let us calm you down and say that Poco is not going away. This is a purely business decision where Poco is reportedly moving all its products and services to Xiaomi’s website.

The change is expected to be smooth and Poco users won’t experience major disruptions.

All customer support, products and services will be seamlessly transferred to Xiaomi’s official website (mi.com/global).

As per the announcement, the change in Poco’s online portfolio is taking place starting 31 December 2024.

Many in the industry have been surprised by the announcement. This is more so because Xiaomi has always highlighted the separation between its different brands including Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco.

Poco Products Moving to Xiaomi’s Website

Poco Products Moving to Xiaomi’s Website

The transition of Poco products to the Xiaomi website will begin on 21 October 2024. It is being reported that after that customers won’t be able to make any purchases on Poco’s website.

As for those who are part of Poco’s loyalty program, the brand will transfer your Poco Points and other loyalty rewards to Xiaomi’s ecosystem.

Coupons you may have will also be reissued by December 12 ensuring they remain valid.

Moreover, all previous orders, tracking details and user reviews from the Poco site will be moved to Xiaomi’s platform automatically.

Users won’t need to take any extra steps to ensure their data is carried over.

After December 31, anyone trying to Poco’s website will be redirected to the relevant page on Xiaomi’s site.

It is important to note that the standalone Poco Store app will not be part of this migration. The app will stop working once the website shuts down.

Why Poco is Moving to Xiaomi’s Website?

Xiaomi has been working for a while to streamline its online presence. The recent announcement of Poco shifting its portfolio to Xiaomi is also part of the same plan.

Many Poco smartphone models in the market today are very similar to Redmi models.

This transition will most likely not change anything significant for the users.

Importantly, Poco India’s website (poco.in) will continue to operate for now.

We have to say, the sound quality of the Boult Retro AMP X40 speaker is better than what we expected.

These speakers are meant for regular home and personal use. You can surely stretch the scope and use it for small parties or personal home gatherings.

The BoomX dual drivers seem to provide a full spectrum of sound.

The studio-quality bass is good for casual listening. Boult claims it has a 40W output, which makes it suitable for small areas.

If you are someone who likes a more balanced sound in your everyday use, these speakers will be perfect for you. However, if you are expecting deep and booming bass then it might feel disappointed as it lacks the extra punch.

We also felt the overall audio loudness could have been better. For those who enjoy cranking up the volume for parties or larger spaces, Retro AMP x40 might feel a bit underwhelming.

We have continuously used Retro AMP x40 for days and we have managed to squeeze around 7 hours of playback on an average. This is when we kept the medium. This is still good for a speaker this size.

The battery power is enough to get you through a long day of casual listening. You can also expect the speakers to fully support a small gathering without needing to recharge frequently.

RIL Announces Bonus Issue: Key Record Date and Essential Details You Can’t Miss

0
Highlights:
  • RIL issues a bonus in a 1:1 ratio, meaning shareholders will get one additional share for each one held.
  • Record date is set for October 7, 2024 – only fully paid-up equity shareholders are eligible.
  • Shareholders can expect increased shareholding, and possible short-term price fluctuations, and should be aware of potential tax implications.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is one of the biggest conglomerates in India.

It recently updated the headlines by announcing a bonus issue of equity shares. This will come as great news for its shareholders as it will be issuing 1:1 shares.

The company has promised to distribute an extra share free of cost for every share already placed with the shareholder.

This article breaks down everything you need to know concerning this bonus issue from the record date to its eventual implications for the investors.

We thus keep it simple and clear so that anybody following the market feels safe. Even if one is just starting to get into the market, we expect you to make great sense of all this as we continue.

RIL Bonus Issue: A Comprehensive Overview

The bonus issue that RIL is proposing has a 1:1 ratio, wherein for every fully paid-up equity share held by you, one extra share will be provided free of cost.

That is a very bountiful step from the company’s perspective and is likely to benefit the existing shareholders by rewarding them while increasing the total shareholding.

The date for the Bonus Issue is October 7, 2024. That is when the bonus issue is said to take place. You would need to own fully paid-up shares by that date. Partly paid-up shareholders don’t qualify.

Make sure you have paid your shares completely before that date.

Once the bonus shares are issued, your total number of shares increases by 100 percent. This is not only an increase in the quantity of shares held but also your voting power in the company.

Though it doesn’t raise the value of your holding the moment the bonus is issued, it can increase many other opportunities in the future through future dividend gains.

Bonus issues of this nature do not affect the market capitalization of the corporation but can cause some short-term price fluctuations.

While investors tend to rebalance their positions in the stock following the bonus issue, the price per share can be somewhat erratic during the days immediately following the record date.

This too is a matter to be noted and often levels out with time.

image

The tax implication of bonus shares varies with each individual and varies from one country’s law to another.

Therefore, some would face tax events because of the bonus shares issued, whereas others would face no tax event at that moment itself.

It would always be wise to seek an opinion from a tax advisor regarding this bonus issue and how it might impact you personally.

Improving liquidity is one of the key reasons for the bonus issues. With twice the no. of shares available, perhaps RIL’s shares could become more accessible to a much wider investor fraternity and even the smaller retail investors, who perhaps found it too steep a stock price before this.

Bonus issues can also be seen as a gesture from the company to its shareholders, showing confidence in the future of the company.

It is often considered a way to reward actors for their continued trust in them; it does not add value technically, but it creates a very positive relationship with shareholders, which is always good for the image of the company.

These bonus issues further facilitate the share consolidation process, especially if a company has a great number of outstanding shares.

In this way, companies will find it easier to deal with their equity base, hence not thwarting their success in smooth-running operations within the stock market.

Conclusion

RIL’s decision to make this bonus issue is extremely excellent news for the shareholders, and the reasons why this is so are beyond doubt.

Hence, by doubling the shareholding of every shareholder, RIL is not just an investment in investor confidence but also augmenting market liquidity.

So, be it a seasoned investor or a first-time investor, let this bonus issue’s essential details and probable implications fall upon your face.

Remember to ensure that your shares are paid up and fully registered before the record date, October 7, 2024; monitor market trends to learn how this will pan out over the coming days regarding prices for your stocks.

FAQs

What does a 1:1 bonus issue mean?

It means for every share you hold, you’ll receive an additional share at no cost.

When is the record date for RIL’s bonus issue?

The record date is October 7, 2024. You need to hold fully paid-up shares by this date to be eligible for the bonus issue.

Will the bonus issue affect RIL’s stock price?

While the market capitalization remains unchanged, there may be short-term price fluctuations as investors adjust to the increased number of shares.

Do I need to pay taxes on bonus shares?

Tax implications depend on individual circumstances and tax laws. It’s advisable to consult a tax expert to understand your situation.

Apple iPhone 16 for ₹27,000: Reddit User Shares How an HDFC Credit Card Unlocked This Exceptional Offer

0

Highlights:

  1. A Reddit user scored an iPhone 16 (256GB) for just ₹27,000.
  2. The original price of the iPhone 16 is ₹89,900.
  3. The deal was made possible using HDFC Infinia credit card reward points.

Recently, a Reddit user made headlines as he bought the newly launched Apple iPhone 16 using credit card points at an astonishing rate of just ₹27,000.

Instead of claiming it as part of a sale or hidden promotion, he availed credit card reward points.

Here’s his full account of how he transformed his credit card into a powerful tool and was able to save over ₹60,000 on one of the most coveted gadgets of the year.

Reddit User Scores Apple iPhone 16 for ₹27,000 Using HDFC Credit Card Rewards

Recently, one Wild_Muscle3506 Redditor managed to blow up everybody’s feed after narrating his sizzle of getting an Apple iPhone 16 for as little as ₹27,000. The cost of this phone in the shop is ₹89,900. Hence, he saves more than ₹62,000 from his purchase. But at this point, everybody had one question- how did he pull it off?

image

However, the great deal comes with a flip side. The secret to this deal was credit card reward points. Wild_Muscle3506 used the HDFC Infinia Credit Card, a high-end card that reeks of luxury along with exclusive offers, benefits, and reward programs.

He pays an advance of ₹26,970 and then applies the reward points that he had saved through previous transactions for the remaining amount of ₹62,930, getting him the iPhone for just ₹27,000 out-of-pocket. Infinia cards are quite different from other credit cards.

It charges a yearly fee of ₹10,000, and because of that feature alone, it offers a higher rate of earning points, travel features, and more premium benefits that appeal to big spenders. The best part for anyone trying to save on a gadget is that this could be the ultimate dream.

But there’s also some relevance to consider; Wild_Muscle3506 did not get those reward points for nothing. He mentioned that the points were accumulated through his Infinia credit card, and he had spent around ₹15 lakh to build up enough points to make this deal.

Thus, while it came at a deep discount, the same reward balance for the Apple iPhone 16 required significant expenditure to attain. This highlights how powerful credit card reward programs can be when applied correctly.

However, it requires planning and discipline to maximize credit card rewards. In Wild_Muscle3506’s case, it shows that if you manage your spending well and pay off the balance on time, you can unlock serious savings on big-ticket purchases.

For responsible spenders who clear their credit card dues in full each month, rewards programs like HDFC Infinia offer access to some great deals. It’s all about playing the long game and spending smartly.

Conclusion

Wild_Muscle3506 on Apple iPhone 16 is another great example of how credit cards help you save money on premium products if spent smartly. This incurs much spending to reach there, but such is the kind of story that reminds one of how valuable credit card rewards are if managed strategically.

But if you are also a credit card user and use it in ways that let you enjoy its benefits without getting into debt for yourself, then like him, you could start enjoying equally impressive deals in the future.

Jio is Set to Launch its Ultra-Affordable 5G Phone at ₹2499: Packed with a 108MP Camera and a Massive 7000mAh Battery.

0

Highlights:

  1. Jio Bharat 5G is rumored to launch at an unbeatable price of ₹2,499.
  2. Expected to feature a 108MP triple camera and a massive 7000mAh battery.
  3. Aimed at making 5G accessible to the masses, especially in India.

Just after 4G, Jio is preparing for another major step. The much-awaited news on the Jio Bharat 5G has piqued much interest, which essentially comes from a probable cost of ₹2,499.

It is no wonder that with the brand reputation of Jio about making technology accessible, this might turn out to become the best option for the budget-conscious user seeking 5G without burning a hole in his pocket.

What could we expect from this new emerging product? Well, let’s break everything that has come up so far.

Jio’s Budget-Friendly 5G Phone: A Game-Changer for India?

India stands at the cusp of a 5G revolution but one big barrier waits for scores of customers: 5G smartphones are too pricey. The majority of 5G-enabled devices are still costlier, and it is likely to demolish that barrier with Jio Bharat 5G.

It could make high-speed internet available to all significant population groups, bringing the latest technology into daily lives at a small fraction of that cost.

The move would align with the history of Jio in disrupting the market, as it did when it launched low-cost data plans—changing the Indian telecom landscape for good.

Leaks suggest that the Jio Bharat 5G packs a slim 4.4-inch display. Although this makes it appear quite small compared to the smartphones of today, the small display might appeal to those looking for pocket-friendly devices.

The punch-hole design for the front camera should make the device look modern without any minuscule interruptions to the screen.

It’s going to sport a 720×1080 pixels screen, which should be decent in size, suited for browsing and streaming videos or casual games with sharp images.

60Hz of the display refresh rate isn’t something major in itself but could still deliver some pretty smooth visuals for casual use.

Rife with chatter concerning its use in powering the Bharat 5G with MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 chipset, the processor is not situated at the very top of the market but is extremely spoken of for bringing solidity and punchy performance into budgeting smartphones with great 5G capabilities on board.

The phone should thus run most day-to-day tasks—from scrolling through social media to light gaming—very well, but that’s where things settle.

Users will be treated to just the right mix of performance and power efficiency, which is key for an affordable device targeting mass-market appeal.

And it’s not just a matter of affordability; it’s meant to pack some serious hardware, especially in the camera department.

The rumors have indeed done it justice; there will be three cameras on the back, and one of them is touted to house a whopping 108MP primary sensor.

To say such a high level of camera quality will be seen in a smartphone from this price bracket is unheard of and would make the Jio Bharat 5G stand tall above a lot of budget smartphones.

image

The back will be equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP depth sensor for capturing portrait shots.

A 16MP selfie camera on the front should appease social media junkies with high-quality selfies or video calls.

Of course, like any smartphone, not even the might of megapixels decides camera performance. That will be achieved through software by Jio. Only time will tell.

Battery life is another segment that Jio Bharat 5G could ace. The rumor hints that it will arrive with a massive 7000mAh battery.

That alone could easily and comfortably provide more than one day of usage, even for heavy users. Long battery life has usually been one of the key selling points for budget-conscious buyers, and Jio seems to have considered that.

And there is a rumor about fast charging, which should enable you to fill this phone completely in just 45 minutes.

It would certainly provide people with that little extra for their money spent, leaving them with much more comfort and less downtime.

These variants of the Jio Bharat 5G will vary depending on how much the user wants to spend. The variations available will include a 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, a 4GB RAM with 128GB storage, and finally, an 8GB RAM for anyone wanting to do more multi-tasking.

These options make it versatile enough so that the user can pick one based on their choice in terms of budget and storage.

Price is something that’s most interesting about Jio Bharat 5G. Leaks report the phone would come in the ₹3,999 to ₹4,999 range, and this effectively brings it down with discounts and offers to around ₹2,499.

There are also reports that Jio plans to give EMI options starting from ₹500 to absorb this device by as many more users as possible.

Although the manufacturer has not made any announcement regarding the release date, analysts are expecting this phone to be released between January and February 2025.

If indeed those leaks and rumors prove to be true, then Jio Bharat 5G will turn out to be a revolutionary deal for the Indian smartphone markets.

That makes 5G affordable to one and all, and at least in the budget segment, it will pick up speed in its adoption.

Other manufacturers of smartphones would feel pressured then to cut prices or pack more features into entry-level devices to remain competitive against such a disruptively price-competitive strategy.

Hence, the Jio Bharat 5G device will also provide a further promising position for the telecom from this side.

With an increased number of users being upgraded to 5G devices, Jio shall witness increased usage in terms of numbers, with the revenue and number of users increasing further.

Conclusion

Jio Bharat 5G could finally make things work even better as the smartphone to watch out for in 2025 is well-positioned with rumors of a 108MP camera and a 7000mAh battery. It would make the ₹2,499 5G pretty nice not only for tech enthusiasts but for regular consumers too. But even the wait does not stop the anticipation for the official confirmation.

And it could potentially tear the market apart and bring 5G to millions of Indians. We can only speculate, based on the leaks for now, but if Jio delivers on these expectations, it could redefine what budget smartphones should deliver in a 5G-driven future. More news to come on Jio’s next big move.
