The feature was spotted by a trusted WhatsApp beta source WABetaInfo for the first time post the Android 2.25.18.18 update. According to their report, it is currently being tested on Android and is an opt-in tool called Private Processing.

Once turned on, if you have a bunch of unread messages, you’ll see a new “Summarise with Meta AI” button instead of the usual “X unread messages” label. Tap it, and you’ll get a short summary of the missed conversation.

WhatsApp says that your messages aren’t stored or tied to your identity. The AI summary happens in an isolated cloud environment and is deleted right after processing. Also, if a chat has Advanced Privacy enabled, the summarisation feature won’t work, AI won’t interact with those messages at all.

As of now, this feature is only available for some users on the Android beta version and is being rolled out slowly. There’s no word yet on when it will be available on iOS or what languages and regions it will support.

Those dev-only versions were a bit bulky and relied on external hardware, but they served as a stepping stone for what’s coming next.

On the software side, Snap OS, the operating system powering these AR Specs is also getting a bunch of important upgrades. These include –

It looks like Meta has finally agreed with what Threads users have been asking for since the beginning. Yes, we are referring to Threads’ own direct messaging, built right into the app. If reports hold any truth, there will be no more redirects to Instagram, no awkward workarounds, just simple and straightforward DMs within the Threads app, where conversations are actually happening.

According to a recent report by The Verge, Threads is testing its own messaging inbox in three countries starting this week. These countries are Hong Kong, Thailand and Argentina.

A leaked render, shared by tipster Max Jambor (@MaxJmb) on X (formerly Twitter), gives us our first clear look at the phone’s back design. And it brings a mix of the familiar and the unexpected.

Max Jambor posted the image along with a caption that read, “There have already been quite a few teasers and leaks, but that’s not enough. Here comes your very first look at the upcoming Nothing Phone (3)!”

Just like its predecessors, the Phone (3) in the leaked images sports a transparent back panel. But this time, there’s no Glyph Interface in sight. Instead, the design focuses on a new triple rear camera setup, placed on a centrally located circular island at the top. The cameras sit in an asymmetrical layout, with one of them clearly being a periscope telephoto lens. Just above the periscope sensor, there’s a circular LED flash.

If accurate, this would make the Nothing Phone 3 the first model from the company without the Glyph Interface, which was one of the brand’s signature design features. Previous leaks had already hinted at the presence of three rear cameras including the periscope lens.

The image also shows the volume rocker on the left side, while the power button and another key likely the Essential Key introduced with the Phone 3a series sit on the right.

Apple’s new software updates announced during the WWDC 2025 opening keynote have stirred up some serious reactions, and not just from fans.
