Oppo is gearing up to launch its latest tablet, the Pad 3, and the rumours suggest it will be an absolute beast when it comes to performance.
Leaks indicate Oppo has been testing the Pad 3 with both Qualcomm’s brand new top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip as well as MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9300 processor.
While the final choice hasn’t been confirmed yet, the latest whispers from Chinese social media claim the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is “basically finalised” to power the Pad 3.
If true, this tablet is going to blow its predecessor out of the water in terms of speed and efficiency.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is no slouch – it packs a powerful Cortex-X4 prime core running at a blisteringly fast 3.3GHz.
It also has five performance-focused Cortex-A720 cores and two energy-efficient Cortex-A520 cores clocked at 3.2GHz and 2.3GHz respectively.
Qualcomm boasts this chip is 30% faster and 20% more power-efficient compared to last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
To put that into perspective, the Oppo Pad 2 ran on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 which was already a very capable chip.
But the rumoured Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Pad 3 is shaping up to be significantly more powerful while also being easier on battery life.
Other than the top-notch processor, not much is known about the Pad 3’s specs yet.
But we can look at its predecessor for clues on what to expect.
The Pad 2 had a unique 11.61-inch display with an unusual 7:5 aspect ratio and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate perfect for gaming.
It also packed a massive 9510mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
If Oppo can build on those solid specs and pair them with the beastly Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, the Pad 3 could end up being an incredibly powerful and versatile tablet.
Fingers crossed the final product lives up to the hype when it eventually launches later this year.
Leaks suggest the Oppo Pad 3 will house the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, marking a significant performance leap over its predecessor.
This processor is praised for being substantially faster and more efficient than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 boasts a Cortex-X4 prime core at 3.3GHz, alongside performance and efficiency cores, making it 30% faster and 20% more efficient than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
This advancement indicates a focus on high-speed performance with improved battery life.
The Oppo Pad 2 featured an 11.61-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 9510mAh battery.
While details on the Pad 3 are still under wraps, it’s expected that Oppo will build upon these specs, potentially offering an even more impressive display and battery performance.
While an exact launch date for the Oppo Pad 3 has not been confirmed, the anticipation builds for a reveal later this year.
The inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor sets high expectations for a release filled with significant upgrades.
