OnePlus Co-founder hints at Foldable Phones

When it comes to the best smartphones in the world, you have so many companies that offer the best model they can create although it is always Apple and Samsung that feature in conversations when it comes to manufacturing the best smartphones while other companies are, unfortunately, relegated to the sidelines.

OnePlus is a massive tech giant that has some of the best model smartphones that any user would love to own but it is not given the same respect as the aforementioned companies, which is why their devices fall into the underrated category.

However, all said and done, it goes without saying that OnePlus has its own standing that has given us many devices that they should be proud of and which have received all the praise and accolades that they rightfully deserve from both tech expert critics and ordinary users.

Now the company is all set to launch its first ever foldable smartphones very soon although it was hinted by Pete Lau, one of the co-founders of OnePlus, through a picture of a hinge that he shared on Twitter, that it will have unique features given that it is the company’s first foldable model.

Mr. Lau mentioned in the tweet about the details of a foldable smartphone without revealing its name and details lest some intelligence user or tech savvy person should put two and two together and work everything out.

When it comes to foldable smartphones, Samsung is well ahead of other brands in producing the best models although Xiaomi is trying to keep pace by introducing Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 while China itself has seen a massive inflow of Moto Razr 2022 in the past few months.

Oppo, sister firm of OnePlus, too has made major inroads in the foldable smartphone market by coming out with ‘Find N’ foldable model that was unveiled at the end of December 2021 where viewers got a memorable experience.

Lau posted these pictures on his official Twitter account and asked for viewers’ opinion where many speculated them to be the foldable screen hinge mechanism of the up and coming model.

Tech experts have come to the conclusion that the posted images are indeed of a foldable smartphone similar to a Galaxy Fold and MI Mix Fold 2 that has made them excited about this model and many are speculating that it will come with Android 13.

Official confirmation has yet to come from the horses’ mouth and users are quite hopeful that OnePlus will reveal further details about the model, even more so since it is their first foldable smartphone.

Features & Specifications of OnePlus Foldable Phones

Although OnePlus is yet to reveal the features and specifications about the new foldable smartphone it has hinted that they will be similar to Oppo’s Find N model so let’s list out its features so that users can get an idea of what they can expect from the upcoming model.

Oppo Find N comes with a 7.1 inch inward foldable display along with a 5.49 inch AMOLED display screen and 120Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC with a storage capacity of 12GB RAM and up to 512GB internal configuration.

It also has a triple rear camera setup with a 50 megapixel Sony IMX776 primary sensor, an ultra-wide angle lens of 16 megapixel, and a 13 megapixel telephoto lens. Moving on, you will get an outer screen that is 32 megapixel with an inner screen of the same resolution and a battery of 4500mAh powered that supports 33W SuperVOOC.

If the rumours of the OnePlus foldable smartphones having similar features and specifications to Oppo Find N are true, then one can expect said features with some obvious differences in the new upcoming model.
