OnePlus 12 has officially been unveiled as the latest flagship smartphone in China.
Coinciding with the 10th anniversary since OnePlus came into existence, the handset is likely to be the light that illuminates the company’s forward path.
Of course, the OnePlus 12 has top-of-the-line specs, you would expect nothing less from the company which works on the motto of ‘Never Settle’.
Let’s dive in a bit and look at what the OnePlus 12 has to offer.

The OnePlus 12 is open for orders and will officially go on sale starting from December 11th in the Chinese market.
As for its global launch, including in India, details regarding pricing and availability are expected to be revealed in early 2024.
“All in one, the OnePlus 12 delivers an exceptionally fast and smooth experience in all high-frequency usage scenarios,” said Louis Li, President of OnePlus China, “It is OnePlus’ best gift to users for its tenth anniversary.”
The OnePlus 12 is of course powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform.
Compared to the last generation of Qualcomm silicone, the handset boasts a 30% improvement in Kryo CPU speeds and a 25% increase in GPU speeds, coupled with a 10% overall improvement in power efficiency.
The device is equipped with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, enhanced by some software wizardry called RAM-Vitalization and ROM-Vitalization.
The OnePlus 12 introduces a 6.8-inch 120Hz 2K Super Fluid AMOLED display with LTPO technology.
That’s fine and we have seen it before.
What we haven’t, and we really shouldn’t without a pair of sunglasses, is the display’s jaw-dropping peak brightness of 4500nits.
Complimenting this is a robust 5400 mAh duel-cell battery system, supporting 100W SUPERVOOC fast wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging.
Talking about numbers, as OnePlus so often does, the phone can be fully charged in just 26 minutes with wired charging and 55 minutes wirelessly.
But won’t the device heat up too fast, you ask?
Well OnePlus has a dual Cryo-velocity Cooling System that ensures the device remains cool.
In terms of the optics, the phone features a 4th Gen Hasselblad Camera which powers a triple camera system of a LYT808 50MP main camera, a 64MP OV64B 3X periscope telephoto camera, and a 48MP ultra-wide camera.
The front of the phone has a 32MP selfie shooter.
OnePlus says that the phone’s design philosophy mirrors the “unbounded beauty of nature”, evident in the Flowy Emerald colorway, which is inspired by the “braided channels of the Dart River”.
Whatever that means.
The phone also features a new generation of ceramic glass technology coated with a matte finish.
Thankfully the OnePlus 12 retains the iconic three-stage alert slider, now repositioned to the left side to accommodate a new integrated antenna and Alert Slider solution.
This change enhances the device’s antenna performance, especially beneficial for gaming enthusiasts.
There is a very high chance that the OnePlus 12 will be announced in the Indian market by January 2024.
While we can’t say for certain the exact date, you can be assured, given OnePlus presence in the Indian market, that it is next on the line after the Chinese launch.

The OnePlus 12 is priced at 4299 CNY for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model, 4799 CNY for the 16GB + 512GB model, 5299 CNY for the 16GB + 1TB model, and 5799 CNY for the 24GB RAM + 1TB model.
The OnePlus 12 features a 6.8-inch 120Hz 2K Super Fluid AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 4500nits.
It’s powered by a 5400 mAh dual-cell battery, supporting 100W SUPERVOOC fast wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging, capable of fully charging the phone in 26 minutes (wired) and 55 minutes (wireless).
The OnePlus 12 comes equipped with a 4th Gen Hasselblad Camera for Mobile, featuring a triple camera system.
This includes a LYT808 50MP main camera, a 64MP OV64B 3X periscope telephoto camera, and a 48MP ultra-wide camera, alongside a 32MP front selfie shooter.
The OnePlus 12’s design is inspired by nature, particularly evident in its Flowy Emerald colorway.
The device also incorporates a new generation of ceramic glass technology with a matte finish and retains the iconic three-stage alert slider, now repositioned for improved antenna performance.
The Pale Green colour for the OnePlus 12 represents a continuation of OnePlus’s tradition of offering a green shade in its flagship lineup. For the OnePlus 12, this green has been revamped, providing a fresh and distinctive appearance that aligns with the brand’s recognizable aesthetic.
The Rock Black colour of the OnePlus 12 is characterized by its matte frosted finish. This choice not only enhances the phone’s visual appeal but also serves a practical purpose by reducing fingerprint smudges. The black variant integrates seamlessly with the phone’s large camera island, offering a polished and premium feel.
The OnePlus 12 has achieved an AnTuTu score of 2,333,033 points, the highest for any smartphone to date. This score reflects the device’s powerful performance capabilities, driven by its advanced chipset and memory configuration.
With a high AnTuTu score, the OnePlus 12 is expected to offer an improved user experience, particularly in terms of interface responsiveness and multitasking. The integration of Android 14 and OxygenOS 14 should provide a seamless and intuitive user interface.
The OnePlus 12 is expected to house the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, offering a 30% increase in CPU and 25% in GPU performance over the OnePlus 11’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This significant leap suggests the OnePlus 12 will outperform its predecessor in speed and efficiency.
The OnePlus 12 is rumoured to feature a higher maximum brightness of 2,600 nits and 2,160Hz PWM dimming on its 6.7-inch OLED display. It also sports a textured back and repositioned Alert Slider, distinguishing it from the OnePlus 11’s design.
The OnePlus 12 might feature a 5,400 mAh battery, larger than the OnePlus 11’s 5,000 mAh, and could introduce wireless charging. Combined with the more efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, this suggests an improvement in overall battery life.
