Microsoft May Have Revealed the Release Date of GTA 6

Grand Theft Auto (GTA) fans should be thrilled as it appears the wait for GTA 6 will be over in 2024. Microsoft may have finally hinted at the release date of the next GTA title, which is going to be the 6th and most awaited edition of the DMA designed popular action adventure game. After Rockstar Games officially announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 was in active development in February 2022, this is probably the second most reliable update regarding the upcoming game. GTA online community is one of the strongest gaming communities online that have only increased its number of active participants each year. The last edition of the game, GTA 5, was released way back in 2013, but the game has remained one of the highest selling ones throughout this period.

So, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that the online GTA community is active and is constantly looking for news updates about the next release. In fact, it was one such gaming community insider on Twitter who first noticed the hint that Microsoft may have subtly left in one of the official documents.

What We Know About GTA 6 Release Date

While addressing his Twitter followers, gaming enthusiast Tom Henderson made a report public with an official Microsoft document that revealed the upcoming GTA title’s release date. The official document was a response filed by Microsoft during the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) investigation of the infamous Activision Blizzard acquisition deal.

The 111 pages document comprises details about the overall gaming industry, its growth and some of the industry practices and gaming terms. However, the small section of the document that caught GTA fans’ frenzy was the tiny part that detailed when exactly GTA 6 was expected to come out.

The relevant portion of the document read, “The highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to be released in 2024.” The highlighted portion of the document soon started circulating in the gaming community with every blogger and insider sharing the document.

However, the one thing that many fans may not have noticed is the reference to the hint Microsoft itself provided in the document, which makes the whole release date appears to be just another speculation. Microsoft itself referenced a Tech Radar leak for its expectation behind GTA 6 release.

One of the online gamers was, however, quick to point this out. A Twitter user named Michael through their official handle @LegacyKillaHD tweeted, “Microsoft’s simply making an educated guess. One that makes a lot of sense. GTA 6 probably will be revealed in the near future with an expected release date of sometime in 2024… that may end up getting pushed into 2025 because well this is Rockstar lol.” The user also shared a link to the media report that had already made the guess sometimes back to support his claim.

Nonetheless, even a little chatter around the GTA 6 release has infused life into the online GTA community with fans not shying away from sharing their excitement.
