Sigma has introduced a new 24MP L-mount mirrorless camera called the Sigma BF. Launching in April 2025 at $1,999, the new-age camera blends classic photography principles with modern innovation and is designed for everyday use.
It aims to capture spontaneous moments while offering a fresh and intuitive shooting experience. Here’s everything we know about the camera as of now.
Introducing the new camera on its official website, Sigma explains, “With the Sigma BF, we present an uncompromising new vision for the digital camera. Stripped to the essence but packed with power, innovative yet rooted in the origins of photography, it is designed to accompany you throughout your day and to capture the spontaneous beauty of everyday life. The BF balances performance with simplicity and returns the focus to what matters most: your photographs.”
Instead of a traditional mode dial, the Sigma BF gives direct access to shutter speed, aperture, ISO, exposure compensation and colour mode selection. This streamlined approach makes adjusting settings more natural and efficient, bringing users closer to the core of photography.
Sigma calls the BF the first camera in history to feature a true unibody design, meticulously crafted from a single block of aluminium over seven hours. The seamless all-metal construction not only looks sleek but also enhances durability. Its ergonomic shape, well-placed buttons and precision-cut front texture ensure a comfortable and secure grip, no matter what lens is attached.
While the Sigma BF focuses on simplicity, it doesn’t compromise on performance. It features a full-frame sensor for outstanding image quality and a hybrid autofocus system that delivers fast and reliable focusing.
Sigma is releasing the BF in the coming April in nine lenses in matching colours while creating a complete and stylish camera system. Whether you’re an enthusiast or a professional, this camera is built to offer an effortless and immersive photography experience.
