Link claiming to change WhatsApp in Pink is a virus

Cyber experts have warned users from falling into the prey of a virus link which claims to turn WhatsApp in pink colour and comes with new features. According to reports, clicking on the link claiming to be an official update from WhatsApp will hack users’ phone and they may lose access to their WhatsApp. Several WhatsApp users were seen sharing the malicious link. The social media giant has also advised its users to not install any kind of APK.

 

Google is working on future foldable phones

Tech giant, Google, new patent shows that the company is working on a foldable phone that could launch sometime in the future. The company filed the patent with the US Patent Office, which was published titled “Hinge Mechanism by Gear Set with Slider for Foldable Display Device.” This implies that the device in question could be a foldable smartphone, tablet, or even a netbook. In the patent, the brand highlights the issues that current foldable devices face and states that its patent offers a solution.

 

UK resident ordered for apples, finds an iPhone

A UK resident made an online purchase of groceries including apples, received an Apple iPhone along with his supplies. The 50-year old, Nick James, was gifted a free iPhone SE as a courtesy of an online rewards scheme for customers of the UK-based supermarket chain Tesco. The UK-based supermarket chain had randomly selected shoppers for promotional rewards that link with an item they had purchased from the supermarket’s online store.

 

Vivo takes lead in China for the 1st time since Huawei’s decline

According to Counterpoint’s China Smartphone Weekly Tracker, the battle for supremacy in China’s smartphone market is heating up, with the top spot changing hands in quick succession. Ever since Huawei started to struggle due to US restrictions on the company, other Chinese smartphone manufacturers have been eager to take advantage. Vivo and OPPO are adopting aggressive market and product strategies, and soon the two brands will be seen hustling for the top spot. As per the report, the company has grown its 5G portfolio quickly to account for more than 76 per cent of its sales in February 2021, from a mere 0.5 per cent in August 2019
