We have been hearing for quite some time now that Redmi K80 Pro will be released exclusively in China first.

However, it appears Redmi has changed the plans and the K80 series is all set for a global release soon.

A Gizmochina report also suggests that this change of plans for the K80 Series now means that we’ll see a POCO smartphone featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor in international markets.

Redmi K80 Series Launch – What We Know So Far?

DCS also claims the “energy density set a new high”, which likely refers to the battery’s ability to store more power in a smaller space.

The Redmi K80 series is expected to include two models.

The base K80 will have the codename Zorn and will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Certain reports claimed that this model was codename Miro. But it was later revealed the codename Miro actually belongs to the Pro version.

The Redmi K80 Pro codenamed Miro will be equipped with the next-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 with model number SM8750.

It has also been identified in listings with internal model numbers O11U for the Pro version and O11 for the base K80 model.

Thomas mentioned in a Weibo post that he has thoroughly reviewed the details of the upcoming flagship products from Redmi.

It is important to note that while both the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro are all set for a global release, they will not be available in India.

There is a separate model codenamed Rodin that is expected to launch in both the global and Indian markets. This model will most likely feature a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 processor,

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Redmi K80 series is expected to have a price increase.

Moreover, Xiaomi will release these Redmi K models under the POCO brand in some regions. But that’s not all.

There is another device in the series codenamed Dali. It has mostly surfaced in leaks. However, it’s unclear whether this model will be released or cancelled eventually.

Gizmochina report suggests that if Redmi decides to release the Dali codenamed smartphone, it will most likely be sold alongside the K80. This means we will get three different Redmi K80 series models.

The upcoming X60 series smartphones are expected to offer better upgrades compared to the Honor X60i launched earlier in July.

Recently Honor teased some new promotional material on Weibo and revealed some new details about the series.

As per recent reports, WhatsApp is adding the long-awaited personalisation option finally to its platform. The custom chat theme feature will WhatsApp allows users to set different themes for their conversations.

According to a Cybernews report, the Pixel 9 Pro sends a “data packet” to Google every 15 minutes.

This packet reportedly contains sensitive information like location, email address, phone number and network status.

The report claims to have gathered this data using a man-in-the-middle technique and captures information as it is sent from the device.

Google has now responded to these claims pointing out that the report “misinterprets technical details.” The search giant also highlights how the report does not properly explain the purpose of the data being collected.

The company clarified that this information is essential for delivering legitimate services on all mobile devices.

“User security and privacy are top priorities for Pixel. You can manage data sharing, app permissions and more during device setup and in your settings. This report lacks crucial context, misinterprets technical details and doesn’t fully explain that data transmissions are needed for legitimate services on all mobile devices regardless of the manufacturer, model or OS, such as software updates, on-demand features and personalized experiences,” Google writes in an official statement.

It is now being reported that this kind of data transfer occurs on all Android smartphones. It is also common in other operating systems like iOS.

Developers from GrapheneOS a privacy-focused version of Android took to X (previously Twitter) to clarify some doubts. They pointed out that iPhones also send similar data to Apple.
