We have previously reported based on a Korean website leak that Samsung is working on a Galaxy S25 slim variant to be released along with three expected Galaxy S25 models.
While tech enthusiasts and online community is still on the speculation mode, a new Smartprix report has revealed spotting a “mysterious” 4th model of Galay S25 series online confirming the previous reports.
According to a recent report, Smartprix team apparently spotted an upcoming Samsung Galaxy smartphone with model number ‘SM-S937U’ in the GSMA IMEI database.
While this seem like a regular Galaxy phone to few, Smartprix team inferred that this phone is part of Galaxy S25 series based on the model number sequence that matches previously revealed Galaxy S25 series other variant’s model number.
A closer look at Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series model numbers shows that the Galaxy S25 has a model numbers “SM-S931”, Galaxy S25+ “SM-S936” and Galaxy S25 Ultra “SM-S938”.
Now, the recently model number perfectly fits into this sequence, which means it is confirmed to be a part of the Galaxy S25 series.
As for the ‘U’ at the end of recently discovered model number ‘SM-S937U’, it stands of US. This means the mysterious smartphone discovered in the US variant of the device. However, we can expect the Korean brand to soon add other region variants in the database as well.
Samsung’s history with thin smartphones is almost a decade old.
Last time we heard about a slim Samsung phone was back in March 2014 when the brand announce Galaxy S5. The smartphone had a thickness of 8.1mm.
Compared to this, Samsung came up with a thinner phone Galaxy Alpha with 6.7mm thickness just few months after.
And now, a decade later, we are again getting reports of Samsung designing a thin smartphone.
Samsung now developing a slim variant of their popular flagship is understandable considering reports of Apple developing a slim iPhone 17 has been doing rounds for a quite a while.
