Redmi is preparing to introduce the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro in China on July 14. Now, the phones have appeared on Taiwan’s NCC certification database. Here’s more on that.

A Xiaomi smartphone carrying the model number 2609FRA74G has been approved by both Taiwan’s NCC and the Eurofins certification authorities. This isn’t the first time the device has been spotted, as it has previously appeared on Indonesia’s TKDN and Europe’s EEC certification platforms.

Although the model is widely believed to belong to the Redmi Note 17 family, the certifications do not specify whether it will launch globally as the Redmi Note 17 Pro or the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.

The documents indicate that the handset will be available in 8GB + 256GB, 8GB + 512GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB storage variants. The phone is also expected to support microSD card expansion of up to 2TB.

The certification listings also shed light on the phone’s battery and charging capabilities. The device is equipped with a BM95 battery and its TÜV Rheinland certification reveals a typical battery capacity of 9,210mAh.

The accompanying MDY-19-EX charger has also been certified confirming support for 100W wired fast charging.

Apart from battery details, the certifications reveal that the smartphone will support 5G NR connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth Low Energy, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The upcoming Redmi Note device is also listed with an IP68 rating indicating protection against dust and water.

Launch Timeline

Xiaomi has yet to announce when the Redmi Note 17 series will be introduced outside China.

The company generally launches its Redmi Note lineup in China around August, but this year it has moved the announcement forward to July. Xiaomi usually brings the global versions a few months later with international launches usually taking place around January of the following year, even if certification approvals begin much earlier.

If Xiaomi follows its usual launch strategy, the Redmi Note 17 series could arrive in global markets in January 2027. However, the company has not officially confirmed any timeline for the international rollout.

Samsung Galaxy A18 5G CAD Renders Leaked, Design, Dimensions and Key Specifications Revealed

0

Highlights

  • Samsung Galaxy A18 5G CAD renders show a familiar design with a pill‑shaped rear camera module.
  • It is expected to measure 164.4 × 77.8 × 7.84mm, slightly thicker than Galaxy A17 and feature USB‑C port, right‑side power/volume keys and flat rear panel.
  • Other expected key Specs include 6.7″ Super AMOLED 90Hz display, 5,000mAh battery and triple rear camera setup led by a 50MP sensor.

The first CAD renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A18 5G have surfaced online with an early look at the smartphone’s design. The upcoming Galaxy A-series handset appears to retain a design language similar to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G. However, renders show some subtle visual changes as well.

Samsung Galaxy A18 5G CAD Renders Leaked

In collaboration with tipster Steve H. McFly @OnLeaks, Smartphone Checker has shared the alleged CAD renders of the Samsung Galaxy A18. The leaked images suggest that the phone will continue with a familiar design featuring a pill-shaped rear camera module similar to the Galaxy A17 5G.

One noticeable change, however, is the camera island finish. Unlike the Galaxy A17 5G, which uses a black camera deco, the Galaxy A18 is shown with a camera module that matches the phone’s body colour.

Apart from this change, the overall design appears largely unchanged. The renders show a flat rear panel with an LED flash positioned in the top-left corner beside the camera module. Samsung’s branding is expected to remain centre-aligned near the bottom of the back panel.

On the front, the Galaxy A18 is tipped to feature a waterdrop-style notch for the selfie camera. The power button and volume keys are expected to be placed on the right edge of the device. At the bottom, the phone appears to include a USB Type-C port positioned between the speaker grille and the microphone opening.

Samsung Galaxy A18 5G – Expected Specifications

According to the report, the Samsung Galaxy A18 is expected to measure 164.4 x 77.8 x 7.84mm, making it slightly thicker than its predecessor. For comparison, the Galaxy A17 measures 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.5mm.

In terms of hardware, the upcoming smartphone is rumoured to feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The report also suggests that Samsung may opt for either a Qualcomm Snapdragon or a MediaTek chipset instead of using one of its own Exynos processors. However, the exact processor has not yet been revealed.

For reference, the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G was launched in India in August 2025 with a starting price of Rs. 18,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The handset is powered by Samsung’s octa-core Exynos 1330 processor and packs a 5,000mAh battery. It also features a triple rear camera setup led by a 50MP primary camera.

As of now, Samsung has not officially confirmed the Galaxy A18 5G or its specifications, so these details should be considered based on leaks and may change ahead of the official launch.

Although the company has not announced a global launch timeline, the Redmi Note 17 has already appeared on the BIS certification website hinting that an India debut could follow. The upcoming lineup is expected to include the Redmi Note 17, Redmi Note 17 Pro and rumours also suggest that a Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is also possible.

Ahead of the official unveiling, Xiaomi has released a new teaser showcasing the Redmi Note 17 Pro’s durability and also confirmed key details via official posters. Here’s more on what we know based on recent official updates.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Official Teaser Video Shows Durability Tests

In the latest promotional video, Xiaomi puts the Redmi Note 17 Pro through a series of durability challenges to highlight its rugged build. The smartphone is confirmed to feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front and comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

The teaser is divided into three stages. In the first challenge, called “Goalkeeper”, multiple Redmi Note 17 Pro units are mounted on robotic arms and used to block football penalty shots. The second test, referred to as the “Extreme Impact Test”, shows the smartphone withstanding direct hits from hard objects, including walnuts and even a durian.

The final challenge, titled “Ultra High-Pressure Water Resistance Challenge”, demonstrates the force of a firefighter’s hose by showing it shattering glass panels and pushing a parked car before directing the high-pressure water stream at the Redmi Note 17 Pro. Despite the intense water pressure, the phone remains fixed in place and continues to function.

While these demonstrations are carried out under controlled conditions, Xiaomi is clearly positioning durability as one of the Redmi Note 17 Pro’s major highlights.

Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Redmi Note 17 Pro will be equipped with a 9,000mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery via official poster in China. This makes it one of the largest batteries available in its category. The battery has received TÜV SÜD’s five-star multidimensional battery quality certification and supports 67W wired fast charging. The smartphone will also offer 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing users to charge compatible accessories and other devices.

The company has also introduced a five-year battery upgrade programme for customers purchasing the Redmi Note 17 Pro during its first sale. Under this programme, users will receive a free battery replacement if the battery health falls below 80 percent within the first four years.

If the battery health drops below 80 percent during the fifth year, Redmi says it will replace the original battery with a higher-capacity 10,000mAh battery instead of another 9,000mAh unit, provided the applicable service terms are met.

Another official teaser confirms that the Redmi Note 17 Pro features a flat 1.5K display capable of reaching 3,500 nits of brightness under sunlight. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and has earned SGS and CQC dual five-star drop resistance certifications after successfully surviving a 3-metre marble drop test.

Xiaomi also demonstrated the panel withstanding repeated impacts from a football, walnuts and even a durian without sustaining damage.

Redmi Note 17 Series – Expected specifications

Apart from the confirmed details, Redmi has also released official renders showing refreshed design of the upcoming series with vertically aligned rear camera modules and new back panel finishes inspired by clouds and shooting stars.

According to recent leaks, the standard Redmi Note 17 could feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, a battery larger than the 5,800mAh unit found in the Redmi Note 15, 67W fast charging, a 50MP primary camera, and HyperOS 3.1 based on Android 16. The new chipset is also expected to deliver better everyday performance than the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 used in the Redmi Note 15.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 17 Pro is tipped to arrive with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, a 1.5K flat OLED display, a 50MP main rear camera, and a 32MP front-facing camera. These specifications are based on leaks and have not yet been officially confirmed by Xiaomi.

The new devices will be initially available in China and later make their way to other global regions including India. Redmi Note 17 has been spotted in the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) database already hinting at its arrival. According to reports, the series could make its way to India sometime in the end of July or early August.

Samsung is all set to unveil its next-generation foldable smartphones on July 22, 2026. The upcoming foldables have appeared in several unofficial renders and leaked case images over the past few months. However, a new report from Android Headlines has now shared what are said to be the official product renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 Official Renders Leaked

In an exclusive report, Android Headlines has shared renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 in Cream, Pink, and Graphite colour options. However, the previously rumoured Mint variant is missing from the images. The report suggests that this green shade may be sold exclusively through Samsung’s official store instead of retail channels.

In terms of design, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 closely resembles its predecessor. However, the upcoming foldable is expected to be priced higher with the 256GB model reportedly costing €1,299, while the 512GB version may be priced at €1,499, marking an increase of around €100 to €180 over the previous generation.

The leaked images show a foldable display with a centred punch-hole camera and slim, evenly sized bezels that are slightly raised to offer added protection when the device is folded. The power button, which also doubles as the fingerprint scanner along with the volume keys is positioned on the right edge.

On the outside, the cover display occupies nearly half of the rear panel and stretches across almost the entire front when the phone is folded, leaving space only for the camera module. The two rear cameras are arranged horizontally in the upper-left corner and are integrated within the cover display itself, just like on the Galaxy Z Flip 7. An LED flash sits alongside the cameras, while the handset continues to feature a flat-frame design.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 – Rumoured Specifications

Although Samsung has not confirmed any hardware details, leaks suggest that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could launch with two chipset variants depending on the market. One version is tipped to use the Exynos 2600, while another could feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor.

The foldable is expected to come with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 or UFS 4.1 storage. It is also rumoured to weigh around 180 grams, making it slightly lighter than its predecessor.

Battery details leaked so far point to a 4,300mAh battery with 25W wired charging support. For photography, Samsung is expected to retain the 50MP primary camera and 12MP ultrawide camera from the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

The main display is rumoured to remain a 6.9-inch Foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the outer display is expected to measure 4.1 inches and use a Super AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. These specifications are based on leaks and remain unconfirmed.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Leaked Renders

The leaked renders also showcase the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 in Cream, Lavender, and Graphite colour options. A Pistachio variant expected to be exclusive to Samsung is not visible in the leaked images.

According to the report, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could start at €1,999. Despite its premium pricing, the device is said to feature a more compact form factor that reportedly resembles the Apple iPhone Ultra, which is expected to debut in September. Apart from a smaller display and the absence of a telephoto camera, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is said to offer specifications similar to those of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

The handset is expected to feature a 5.5-inch QHD+ outer display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, while the inner screen is tipped to be a 7.6-inch QHD+ panel with a 4:3 aspect ratio. This wider layout is expected to provide a landscape viewing experience immediately after unfolding the device, eliminating the need to rotate the phone as is common with many current foldables.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is also rumoured to be exceptionally slim and lightweight. It is expected to weigh around 200-201 grams, making it even lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The phone could measure just 4.5mm thick when unfolded and 9.7mm when folded.

Under the hood, the foldable is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, the same processor used in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. It is likely to be paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage as the base configuration with 512GB and 1TB storage options also expected.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra Official Renders Leaked

The leaked official images also reveal the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra in Cream, Graphite, and Violet Shadow colours. Another shade called Green Shadow is also expected to be offered.

The premium foldable is tipped to start at €2,199 for the 256GB storage variant. In terms of design, Samsung appears to have retained the same overall look as the previous generation with the primary changes limited to the colour lineup.

The renders show the familiar triple rear camera arrangement running vertically along the outer edge of the device. Samsung also continues with its squared-off design language rather than using different shapes on either side of the hinge.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra – Expected Specifications

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, the same chipset found in the Galaxy S26 lineup. According to the report, Samsung and Qualcomm have already hinted at this through Weibo.

The foldable is expected to offer 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage in its base variant. One of the biggest expected upgrades is a 5,000mAh battery bringing it in line with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, along with 45W fast wired charging replacing the slower charging speeds of previous generations.

On the camera side, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is tipped to retain a 200MP primary camera, 10MP 3x telephoto camera, and 50MP ultrawide camera. However, Samsung may introduce improvements similar to those seen on the Galaxy S26 Ultra including aperture enhancements designed to capture more light.

These camera details like the rest of the specifications are based on leaks and have not yet been officially confirmed.

Apple’s Foldable iPhone ‘Ultra’ Reportedly Enters Mass Production, September Launch Still on Track

Highlights

  • Apple’s foldable iPhone has reportedly entered mass production with Foxconn scaling up hiring to meet demand.
  • Despite earlier delay rumours, supply chain sources confirm the device is still on track for a September 2026 launch alongside iPhone 18 Pro models.
  • The foldable is expected with 7.8″ foldable inner display, 5.5″ cover screen, A20 chip and Touch ID power button.

Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone appears to be moving closer to its official debut. According to multiple reports from China and South Korea, the device has now entered mass production and there are currently no indications that its expected September launch will be delayed.

Foldable iPhone Reportedly Enters Mass Production

According to Chinese financial publication Cailian Press citing multiple sources within Apple’s supply chain, the foldable iPhone’s design was finalised some time ago and the device has now entered mass production.

Separate reports from Chinese outlet East Money and South Korea’s The Bell also claim that Apple’s foldable iPhone has reached the mass production stage. The reports add that Apple’s manufacturing partner Foxconn has reportedly begun large-scale hiring to meet production requirements.

When asked about recent rumours suggesting the foldable iPhone could face delays due to its complex assembly process and low production yields, supply chain sources told Cailian Press that they were not aware of any postponement. According to them, the device is still expected to be ready for a September delivery window.

According to the latest reports, Apple has asked its suppliers to prepare production for around 10 million foldable iPhones this year. This represents an increase from the company’s earlier production estimate of approximately 7 to 8 million units.

Previous Reports Suggested Possible Delay

Last month, The Elec reported that mass production would begin in July but also claimed that Apple had encountered hinge-related issues during testing. Although most of those problems were reportedly resolved, the publication suggested that initial shipments following the launch could be limited.

More recently, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the foldable iPhone is expected to be unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in September. However, he suggested that sales may begin only in the fourth quarter, pointing to a possible October or later release.

Earlier this year, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman initially reported that the foldable iPhone would not ship alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September. However, Gurman revised his expectations a month later and said that the device remained on track for a September announcement and could go on sale around the same time as the Pro models.

iPhone Ultra – Expected Specifications and Price

The foldable iPhone is currently rumoured to launch under the “iPhone Ultra” branding, although Apple has not officially confirmed the device or its name.

Based on previous leaks, Apple’s first foldable smartphone is expected to feature a book-style foldable design with a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch outer cover screen.

The device is also rumoured to be powered by the A20 chipset and could feature Apple’s C2 modem in select markets. For security, Apple is expected to use a Touch ID-enabled power button instead of Face ID.

Pricing is expected to start between $2,000 and $2,500, according to various reports.
