This feature was previously only available in WhatsApp‘s larger groups, but now any group can start a voice chat. Unlike traditional group calls that ring every member, voice chats work more like a drop-in audio hangout. When someone starts one, it doesn’t ring anyone and instead, a quiet pop-up appears in the chat letting people join if they want.
WhatsApp says the new update lets group members chat live using voice while still sending messages in the chat. You can join or leave anytime without interrupting the ongoing conversation.
How ‘Audio Hangouts’ in Group Chats Work?
To start a voice chat, just swipe up from the bottom of the group chat and hold for a few seconds. The best part is that it is low-disruption without any notifications or ringtones.
Once active, the voice chat is pinned to the bottom of the group chat. This makes it easy to see who’s talking, control your audio settings and join or leave freely.
New participants can join in at any time. And like everything else on WhatsApp, voice chats are end-to-end encrypted by default.
While this kind of voice chat experience has been around on platforms like Discord, Telegram and Slack, it’s new to WhatsApp users. These platforms already let users hop in and out of live group voice chats without needing to place a formal call.

The Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra features a large 14-inch OLED display with a 3.2K resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen uses TCL’s M9 luminous material and offers a global brightness of 900 nits, peaking at 1600 nits.
Xiaomi has added a nano-soft light screen coating with anti-reflective tech and nano-etching, which it claims reduces up to 99% of ambient light interference, making it easier to use in bright conditions.

Xiaomi has just added a new model, Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro, to its stylish and camera-focused Civi series in China. While most of the attention at the event was on the Xiaomi 15s Pro and its new in-house Xring O1 chipset, the Civi 5 Pro still manages to stand out with solid specs and a more affordable price tag. Here’s what we know about the new smartphone.
The phone features a 6.55-inch quad-curved OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, dual punch-hole cutout and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen can hit a peak brightness of 1400 nits, making it bright and smooth for daily use.
Design-wise, the Civi 5 Pro is all about balance and texture. It comes with a metal frame and a unique “Iced American” color option that Xiaomi says has a subtle coffee aroma, definitely something different.

The Honor 400 has a 6.55-inch flat OLED screen with a resolution of 1264×2736 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, delivers up to 5000 nits of HDR brightness and offers 3840Hz PWM dimming to protect your eyes.
Meanwhile, the Honor 400 Pro steps things up with a slightly larger 6.7-inch quad-curved OLED display at 2800×1280 resolution, also with a 120Hz refresh rate and the same brightness level.
Under the hood, the Honor 400 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, with up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB of storage. It features a 12.1-inch LCD display with a 2560×1600 resolution, likely with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. For cameras, you get 8MP front and rear sensors, both with f/2.0 aperture and no autofocus.

Apple has just updated its list of vintage and obsolete products, which affects support and repair options for some older iPhone and iPad models.
As of today, the iPhone 7 Plus and certain iPhone 8 models have been added to Apple’s vintage list. That means these devices haven’t been sold for more than 5 years but less than 7 years. While they may still be eligible for repairs, Apple no longer guarantees that parts will be available.
All iPhone 7 Plus units specifically and the 64GB and 256GB versions of the iPhone 8 are now considered vintage. However, the 128GB iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus models (except the PRODUCT(RED) versions) aren’t on the list yet.
