Samsung to launch S Pen Pro for the Galaxy S21 Ultra later this year

0

The South Korean Tech Giant is all set to launch a bigger stylus called S Pen Pro later this year. The Galaxy S21 Ultra‘s S Pen costs $40 if you want it as it does not come included in the box. It also doesn’t have the same features as the S Pen of the Galaxy Note 20 series. The upcoming S Pen Pro will have more features and will arrive for the new flagship.

The S Pen Pro is much bigger than the S Pen for the Galaxy S21 Ultra. It actually looks like the Apple Pencil in black. Some have said that it is just the S Pen of the Galaxy Tab S7 in black but it appears that is not the case.

The S Pen for the Galaxy S21 Ultra doesn’t have Bluetooth and also doesn’t have air gestures but the S Pen Pro will have these features. Seeing as Samsung says that you can use the S Pen available with its other devices on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, you would think Bluetooth and air gesture feature of the S Pen of the Galaxy Note 20 will carry over the S21 Ultra, right? No. You only get the same basic functions as the standard S Pen.

What this means is that if you want these extra features, you will have to purchase the S Pen Pro. Samsung says it will arrive later this year but did not reveal the price. The stylus will also not have a special phone case where users can store it based on its size.

Trump banned from Snapchat for trying to incite violence: Report

0

Snapchat permanently banned US President Donald Trump’s account, saying he has violated the mobile app’s rules many times by trying to spread hate speech and incite violence.

According to some media reports, after indefinitely suspending Trump’s account following the Jan 6 Capitol riots, Snap Inc has “been assessing what long term action is in the best interest of our Snapchat community,” the company said in a statement. “In the interest of public safety, and based on his attempts to spread misinformation, hate speech, and incite violence, which are clear violations of our guidelines, we have made the decision to permanently terminate his account.”

Earlier, Twitter also permanently banned Trump. He’s been suspended from Facebook’s main social network and Instagram indefinitely, and his account on Google’s YouTube is blocked from posting for a week. Snapchat was one of the first social networks to take action on Trump’s messages, deciding last year during widespread US protests against police shootings of Black men that the president’s rhetoric was inspiring racial hate.

At the time, the app restricted the president’s posts from getting any reach beyond people who chose specifically to follow him.

Samsung planning to stop shipping chargers with its smartphones

0

Looks like, Samsung is following the footsteps of the Apple iPhone 12 lineup, the South Korean tech giant is also planning to quit shipping chargers in the packaging box. This might even lead to the company eventually discontinuing providing chargers with any of its smartphones.

According to a report by Android Authority, the South Korean tech giant might gradually remove shipping the in box chargers and earphones with its smartphone offerings. Similar to Apple, Samsung also cited environmental concerns as the primary reason for removing these accessories from the retail box. While this may now only be for the newest premium grade flagship, the practice might extend to its other upcoming lineup as well.

As per the report, recently, the company published a set of FAQs about its new flagship handsets and the items that it ships with them. Along with this set of questions, Samsung even hinted at its possible future plans regarding the accessories it provides with its retails boxes. The company stated that “We believe that the gradual removal of charger plugs and earphones from our in-box device packaging can help address sustainable consumption issues and remove any pressure that consumers may feel towards continually receiving unnecessary charger accessories with new phones.”

Samsung further added that it first introduced USB Type C charging ports back in 2017. Meaning, there are plenty of older and compatible chargers that its Galaxy S21 series buyers can use. Keep in mind, the company hasn’t directly stated that it will remove these accessories completely, although, the move might be permanent for its Galaxy S series of flagship smartphones. In other words, the Galaxy A, M, and F family of devices might still continue to ship with these accessories in the future.

Apple to launch MacBook Pro 2021 with new design without Touch Bar

0

Apple recently launched the new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini powered by the company’s latest ARM-based M1 chipset. With that, the Cupertino-based giant kicked off the process of transitioning from Intel chips to its own Apple Silicon.

The company has been long rumored to launching new MacBook Pro devices in the market and now reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed some interesting information about the upcoming laptop.

According to a new report, Kuo indicates that the upcoming MacBook Pro 2021 will come with a refreshed design, featuring squared-off sides in both the top and bottom halves of the machine. The design will be similar to what we have seen in the iPad Pro and the new iPhone 12 models.

As per reports, the upcoming models will look similar to the current models with minor changes. Ming-Chi Kuo also claims that the company will remove the Touch Bar in favor of the physical row for the function keys.

The company is reportedly bringing back the MagSafe charger which is expected to have a similar design to the previous incarnation on Mac notebooks. But the devices will continue to support USB-C ports on both sides.

Apple is expected to launch two different models of MacBook Pro this year — one with a 14-inch display and another with a 16-inch display. The report goes on to add that the devices could be officially launched in the third quarter of this year.

Both of them will be powered by the company’s ARM-based chipset but this report doesn’t confirm if this will be a new processor. Previously, it was reported that the models in 2021 will be powered by the M1X or M2 chipset from Apple.
