Threads is rolling out improved analytics tools aimed at giving users a clearer view of how their content is performing and where it’s being discovered. The company recently made the announcement in a Meta Newsroom post titled “New Threads Features for a More Personalized Experience That You Control.”

With the latest update, users now have access to more detailed data in the platform’s “Insights” dashboard. In the “Interactions” section, users can view engagement metrics broken down by likes, replies, quotes, and reposts. The “Followers” section now offers insights into follower growth along with geographic breakdowns such as top cities and countries, and demographic details like age range and gender.

Meta post explained, “You can now tap metrics within the Insights dashboard for more detailed information. For example, tapping the Interactions section shows engagement by likes, replies, quotes and reposts, while tapping the Followers section shows follower growth with geographic data, including top cities and countries, and demographic information like age range and gender.”

A new chart has also been added to help users track how their post performance evolves over time. It displays content trends across a customisable window ranging from seven to 90 days.

Since eligible Threads posts can appear in recommendations on Instagram and Facebook, the platform now lets users see where their content is being viewed. The update shows the percentage of views generated by each app.

According to the Meta-owned company, these changes are intended to help creators build their audience, increase their visibility and better understand what kind of content resonates with their followers.

The update comes amid Threads’ rapid growth. Data from market intelligence firm Similarweb shows the platform is gaining ground on its main rival, X.

In June 2025, Threads’ iOS and Android mobile app recorded 115.1 million daily active users, marking a 127.8% increase year-over-year. In contrast, X had 132 million daily active users, but its year-over-year growth dipped by 15.2%.

As Threads continues its push against X and other competitors, equipping creators with advanced tools to analyse and grow their content presence seems like a logical next step.

YouTube Removes Trending Page Section, Here’s Everything You Need to Know About It

0

Highlights

  • YouTube has officially discontinued its global Trending and Trending Now tabs.
  • It is shifting toward AI-driven, personalised content discovery.
  • Genre-based charts, revamped Explore pages and AI-powered Inspiration Tab now surface content based on viewer interests and trends.

image

YouTube has officially discontinued its Trending and Trending Now pages. This decision marks a major strategic shift towards AI-powered personalisation, where content recommendations are driven by user behaviour rather than a universal popularity chart.

YouTube is adapting to evolving viewing habits, shaped by the rise of YouTube Shorts, search-based discovery and niche community engagement. The platform’s new discovery approach focuses on delivering relevant, localised and interest-based content, fundamentally reshaping how users interact with creators and viral media.

What’s Replacing the Trending Page?

Category-Specific Charts

In place of the general Trending page, YouTube has introduced genre-based charts that are more targeted and user-relevant. These include  –

  • Trending Music Videos
  • Weekly Top Podcasts
  • Popular Movie Trailers
  • Gaming Explore Page

Each chart is tailored to specific user interests and regional viewing trends, making them more engaging than a generic list.

Expanded Explore Pages

The Explore tab is also being overhauled to provide more intuitive content discovery. It now includes dynamic updates across interest areas such as –

  • Fashion and lifestyle
  • Science and technology
  • Health and wellness
  • Local and regional updates

These revamped pages are designed to be more responsive to emerging trends and individual user preferences.

New Tools for Creators – AI-Driven Support and Visibility

Inspiration Tab

To help creators keep up with evolving trends, YouTube has rolled out the Inspiration tab, which:

  • Surfaces trending topics based on the creator’s audience
  • Suggests video ideas aligned with viewer interest
  • Uses AI to analyse audience behaviour and recommend content themes

Hype and Creator Discovery Tools

YouTube is also expanding tools to boost visibility for newer creators including –

  • Hype (launched in India): Allows fans to increase the reach of emerging creators
  • Creators on the Rise: Promotes rising talent on official YouTube channels and the Explore tab

These features aim to democratise content discovery, reducing creators’ reliance on viral hits for growth.

Why Did YouTube Remove the Trending Page?

According to ToI’s recent report, traffic to YouTube’s Trending tab has dropped significantly in the last five years. Most users now find popular videos through algorithmic recommendations on the Home feed, Search suggestions, real-time engagement, YouTube Shorts and the Community tab.

This is one of the biggest reasons why the manually curated or static Trending page became obsolete compared to dynamic and personalised discovery methods.

Moreover, the One-Size-Fits-All Model no longer works. A single list of “what’s trending” can no longer reflect the interests of YouTube’s massive and diverse audience. Viral content today is increasingly fragmented across language-based communities, regional or cultural preferences and niche content categories like gaming, beauty, or education.

The traditional Trending page simply couldn’t capture this diversity anymore.

YouTube Shorts and AI-Powered Recommendations

YouTube Shorts has fundamentally changed how content trends on the platform. These quick, vertical videos spread virally through personalised feeds and not curated lists.

To support this shift, YouTube now relies on machine learning and behaviour analytics to deliver more relevant content. The algorithm takes into account your watch history, regional trends, user engagement behaviour and search patterns.

This AI-first strategy offers a more customised and timely discovery experience than the now-retired Trending tab ever could.

FAQs

Q1. Why did YouTube remove the Trending and Trending Now pages?

Answer. Traffic to YouTube’s Trending tab has dropped significantly in the last five year. The traditional Trending page simply couldn’t capture this diversity anymore.

Q2. What is replacing the old Trending page on YouTube?

Answer. YouTube has introduced genre-based charts including Trending Music Videos, Weekly Top Podcasts, Popular Movie Trailers, and a Gaming Explore Page.

Q3. How is YouTube helping creators adapt to this change?

Answer. YouTube has rolled out the Inspiration tab, which surfaces trending topics based on the creator’s audience and uses AI to recommend video ideas aligned with viewer interest.

  • The Ace 6 may offer 165Hz refresh and a 7,800mAh battery.

It appears OnePlus is changing its launch strategy. A new leak suggests that the company might take a different approach this year.

OnePlus has typically launched its flagship and Ace-branded sub-flagship phones in China in separate phases toward the end of each year. For instance, the OnePlus 13 was introduced in October, followed by the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro in December. However, this usual schedule is reportedly changing this year.

OnePlus 15 and Ace 6 May Launch Together

According to a recent post by popular tipster Digital Chat Station on Chinese app Weibo, both the OnePlus 15 and Ace 6 are now tipped to launch in October, hinting at a possible joint unveiling. This could mean that the Ace 6 Pro might either launch later or potentially be skipped entirely.

image
DCS’s recent post. (Screenshot credit – Gizmochina)

Multiple previous reports have already confirmed that OnePlus is currently working on its next flagship the OnePlus 15. This was earlier expected to debut in October in China and it is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset.

As for the Ace 6 series, it was confirmed that the series will arrive with two models, the Ace 6 and Ace 6 Pro. These were previously expected to launch around November or December.

But like we mentioned above, tipster Digital Chat Station now points to a shift in plans.

image

The tipster also mentioned that these upcoming OnePlus devices may debut ahead of the Redmi K90 series, implying direct competition between the two lineups.

OnePlus Ace 6 and OnePlus 15 – What to Expect?

image
DCS’s post last month. (Screenshot credit – Gizmochina)

In a previous leak, DCS revealed that the OnePlus Ace 6 could feature a 6.83-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. It will likely be powered by a Snapdragon 8 series chip and may include features such as an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, a metal middle frame, a large 7,800mAh battery, and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

The OnePlus 13, 13T, and Ace 5 Pro were all powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. With the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, OnePlus may reconsider its strategy, possibly skipping the Ace 6 Pro altogether, though this remains speculative for now.

As for the OnePlus 15, leaks suggest it will sport a 6.78-inch flat OLED LTPO 2K display with ultra-slim bezels on all sides. It is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and may come with a 7,000mAh+ battery supporting 100W wired and wireless charging.

Additional rumoured features include a Plus key (side-mounted button), metal middle frame, ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, 0916 x-axis linear vibration motor and IP68/69-rated durability.

Meanwhile, OnePlus is also expected to launch the OnePlus 15T in Q1 2026.

Some new leaked images have revealed the upcoming “Moto 360 (2025)” smartwatch, signalling the return of Motorola’s iconic wearable line. While the design appears promising, there’s still no confirmation on whether the device will run Wear OS. Here’s what we know so far.

Moto 360 (2025) Smartwatch – Leaked Renders

According to a report from Android Headlines, the Moto 360 (2025) is expected to launch later this year. Unlike the 2020 reboot that was manufactured by a third party, this new model is suggested to be developed by Motorola itself.

The report also releases some very clear renders of the upcoming smartphones revealing key aspects of the design and setting expectations.

The smartwatch features a round display housed in a stainless steel-like chassis. The bezel surrounding the face includes faux watch markings, reminiscent of Samsung’s “Classic” series. The device will reportedly be available in five colours and is shown paired with a metal link band.

In terms of controls, the watch has a large crown positioned at the top right side, accompanied by a second button below. The top crown appears to be rotatable, potentially allowing for additional input functions.

So far, these are the only confirmed details from the leak.

Moto 360 (2025) Smartwatch – WearOS Not Confirmed Yet

There is speculation that the Moto 360 (2025) might run Wear OS, but the report notes that Motorola typically equips its wearables with its own RTOS. It also states that “it” runs “Moto Watch OS,” though it’s unclear if this refers to earlier models like the Moto Watch Fit released earlier this year or to this new 2025 version.

At this point, the leaked images don’t provide enough evidence to identify the software platform. As the report explains, all smartwatch operating systems tend to look quite similar in terms of their watch face UI.

As for now, we’ll have to wait and see what Motorola officially announces for the Moto 360’s next chapter.

FAQs

Q1. What design features are revealed for the Moto 360 (2025) smartwatch?

Q2. Who is developing the Moto 360 (2025) and how does it differ from the 2020 model?

Answer. Unlike the 2020 reboot that was manufactured by a third party, this new model is suggested to be developed by Motorola itself.

The image was shared via AndroidHeadlines and it showcases Google’s upcoming flagship in four colour variants. These colours appear to be Obsidian, Indigo, Frost and Limoncello.

While Obsidian (black) was also available with the Pixel 9, the other three options are brand new. Indigo is a bold Royal Blue, Frost is a soft Sky Blue and Limoncello is a unique Green-Yellow tone.

Despite the fresh colour options, the overall design remains mostly unchanged. The most noticeable difference lies in the camera module. The Pixel 10’s visor now stretches longer to accommodate a new telephoto shooter, a feature that was previously reserved for Pro models.
