Samsung is gearing up to unveil its Galaxy S26 flagship lineup next year. It is expected to include three models, which are the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

While the Galaxy S26 Edge was recently revealed to have an iPhone 17 Pro-inspired camera bump, fresh leaks now give us a closer look at the Galaxy S26 Pro. Despite the refreshed “Pro” branding, it appears the design changes in the Pro model will remain fairly minimal. Here’s a roundup of recent leaks.

Galaxy S26 Pro Renders Leak

Well-known leaker OnLeaks in collaboration with Android Headlines has shared new renders of the Galaxy S26 Pro. Unlike the bold redesign of the Edge variant, the S26 Pro keeps things familiar, with its main tweak being a revamped camera housing.

Instead of adopting the large rectangular bump of the Edge, the Pro mirrors the Galaxy S26 Ultra with an elevated pill-shaped module, similar to the setup seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

This aligns with Samsung’s long-standing approach of unifying design language across its product lines. The isolated lens design was first introduced on the Galaxy S22 Ultra nearly four years ago and Samsung seems ready for a subtle refresh. The Edge remains an ultra-thin outlier, but wobble issues across the rest of the lineup are likely to persist.

Another significant change is the larger display size. Much like Apple’s iPhone 17, Samsung is increasing the screen size on its entry-level flagship, though by a smaller margin. The Galaxy S26 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch display, up from the 6.2-inch panel on its predecessor, with slim bezels ensuring a compact footprint. While the size difference may not be dramatic, it helps Samsung match competing devices from Apple and Google.

According to Android Headlines, the Galaxy S26 Pro’s dimensions measure 149.3 x 71.4 x 6.96mm. This makes it 2.5mm taller, nearly 1mm wider, and around 2mm thinner than the Galaxy S25. However, the new pill-shaped camera bump extends to about 10mm, suggesting the device may still wobble when laid flat without a case.

Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge – Charging Speed

Separately, a new report from leaker Ice Universe @UniverseIce on X (formerly Twitter) claims that both the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge will stick with 25W fast charging, the same as their predecessors.

This comes despite earlier rumours of 45W charging support for the Pro. If true, this will likely disappoint Samsung fans who were hoping for faster charging speeds.

Battery capacities are also tipped. The Galaxy S26 Pro may pack a 4,300mAh battery, while the Galaxy S26 Edge could feature a 4,200mAh cell. The Pro is expected to replace the standard Galaxy S model, while the Edge will take the place of the S+ variant.

FAQs

Q1. What design changes are expected in the Galaxy S26 Pro?

Answer. The S26 Pro will feature a pill-shaped camera module similar to the Ultra and Z Fold 7, a slightly larger 6.3″ display, and slimmer bezels, but overall minimal redesign.

Q2. Will the Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Edge support faster charging?

Answer. No. Both models are expected to retain 25W fast charging, the same as their predecessors, despite earlier rumours of a 45W upgrade for the Pro variant.

Q3. What are the expected battery capacities for the S26 Pro and S26 Edge?

After years of anticipation, Spotify is officially rolling out lossless audio streaming. The feature was first promised back in 2021 and the best part is it is available to Premium subscribers at no extra cost.

Spotify Rolls Out Free Lossless Audio

In a new announcement, Spotify confirmed that lossless audio quality is now rolling out in select regions. To enjoy the feature, listeners will need to use Spotify Connect or wired headphones (analogue or USB). Bluetooth isn’t supported for lossless playback.

According to the company, “many devices” already support lossless via Spotify Connect including those from Sony, Samsung, Bose, and Sennheiser, with more brands like Sonos and Amazon expected to gain support “next month.”

Spotify writes, “For the smoothest and best listening experience, we recommend streaming lossless music on Wi-Fi using wired headphones or speakers on a non-Bluetooth connection, like Spotify Connect. Currently, Bluetooth doesn’t provide enough bandwidth to transmit lossless audio, so the signal has to be compressed before being sent.”

When enabled, music streams in 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC, which is a major step up from current audio quality options. However, it still falls short of rival services like Tidal, which supports 24-bit/192 kHz FLAC in HiRes streaming.

How to Enable Lossless Audio on Spotify?

Lossless audio must be enabled per device with an indicator showing whether tracks are streaming in lossless quality on Spotify Connect devices. On mobile, users can turn it on through the following steps –

  • Tap profile icon (top left).
  • Navigate to Settings & Privacy → Media Quality.
  • Choose where to enable lossless audio (Wi-Fi, cellular, or downloads).

As for now, the feature is gradually rolling out to Premium subscribers in Australia, Austria, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, the US, and the UK.

Why the Delay in Rollout?

This upgrade has been a long time coming. Spotify initially announced the feature under the name “HiFi” in 2021, and it was reportedly ready for launch years ago. At the time, it was expected to come as a $5/month add-on, but in a surprising shift, Spotify has now bundled it directly into its existing Premium plan. While it’s not free on its own, Premium users won’t pay anything extra beyond their current subscription fees.

About the delay in rollout, Spotify’s VP of Subscriptions Gustav Gyllenhammar says, “The wait is finally over; we’re so excited lossless sound is rolling out to Premium subscribers. We’ve taken time to build this feature in a way that prioritises quality, ease of use, and clarity at every step, so you always know what’s happening under the hood. With Lossless, our premium users will now have an even better listening experience.”

FAQs

Q1. What is Spotify’s new lossless audio feature and who can access it?

Answer. Spotify now offers 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC lossless streaming for Premium subscribers at no extra cost. The feature is rolling out gradually in select regions.

Q2. How can users enable lossless audio on Spotify?

Answer. Go to your profile → Settings & Privacy → Media Quality, then choose where to enable lossless audio (Wi-Fi, cellular, or downloads). It must be enabled per device.

Q3. What devices support Spotify’s lossless audio?

Answer. Lossless playback works via Spotify Connect or wired headphones. Bluetooth isn’t supported. Compatible brands include Sony, Samsung, Bose, and Sennheiser, with more coming soon.

At the time of Nothing Phone (3) launch in early July this year, the company confirmed it would roll out the update “later this autumn.” Google officially launched Android 16 back in June. So, it is no surprise that Phone (3) is expected to be the first device to receive the new software.

Now, Nothing has begun teasing Nothing OS 4.0, which is built on Android 16. A short teaser video shared on the brand’s social media platforms gives a quick look at the redesigned icons and emphasises that the new update will be both “refined” and “redefined.”

As expected, the Nothing Phone (3) will lead the rollout. However, the Nothing Phone (1) won’t be eligible since it has already reached the end of its promised three years of software support after its launch in July 2022.

That said, Nothing CEO Carl Pei has hinted at something for early adopters. He revealed that the company is working on “a program” specifically for “day-one users” of the Phone (1), though he didn’t provide further details. This has sparked speculation that the Phone (1) could potentially get Android 16 in some form, possibly as a beta program.

While longtime users of Nothing’s debut device would certainly welcome such a move, Pei hasn’t made any firm commitments yet. For now, Nothing Phone (1) owners will have to wait and see if the company decides to extend Android 16 support beyond its original promise.

FAQs

Q1. Which Nothing phone will get the Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.0 first?

Answer. The Nothing Phone (3) is expected to be the first device to receive Nothing OS 4.0, which is built on Android 16, later this autumn.

Q2. Will the Nothing Phone (1) receive the Android 16 update?

Answer. Officially, the Phone (1) is not eligible as it has reached the end of its 3-year support cycle. However, Carl Pei hinted at a special program for early adopters, sparking speculation about possible beta access.

Q3. What changes are teased in Nothing OS 4.0?

Answer. A teaser video highlights redesigned icons and a refreshed interface, with the update described as both “refined” and “redefined” by the company.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially rolled out a new dedicated parental controls app called “PlayStation Family” for both iOS and Android users. The app consolidates existing parental tools into one place while also introducing new features, making it easier for parents to monitor and manage their children’s gaming activities.

Announcing the app launch and explaining its features in a blog, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s VP, Product Management, Cory Gasaway writes, “At Sony Interactive Entertainment, we’re committed to providing safe play for gamers of all ages, including enhancing ways for parents to manage their children’s gaming experience. This includes the current parental control features available on the PS5 and PS4 console, such as playtime settings and age restriction settings for games. Today, we’re pleased to announce our next step in this commitment with PlayStation Family, a new dedicated parental control mobile app available on iOS and Android devices*. PlayStation Family app will be launching around the world starting today.”

While Sony has previously offered parental controls, the PlayStation Family app takes it a step further by offering real-time insights, flexible controls, and streamlined account setup.

Key Features of the PlayStation Family App

Guided Onboarding – Parents can easily set up a child account with a simple, guided process.

Real-Time Notifications – Get alerts about what game your child is playing, approve or decline playtime extensions, and manage restricted content requests directly from your phone.

Activity Reports – View daily and weekly activity summaries with detailed insights into a child’s playtime and game activity.

Playtime Management – Set time limits for each day of the week. Children can request extra playtime from the console, and parents can approve or deny from their mobile device.

Spending Controls – Add funds, set monthly spending limits, and monitor balances to manage purchases from the PlayStation Store.

Content Filters – Apply age-appropriate restrictions with one tap using preset filters for different age groups, or customise them individually.

Social Interaction Settings – Adjust privacy and manage how children connect, communicate, and interact with other players online.

Sony’s move comes amid increasing industry focus on child safety in gaming. Roblox, a platform where 40% of the user base is under 12, has also faced criticism over inadequate protections for younger players. In response, Roblox announced updates including expanded age-estimation technology and a partnership with the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) to provide clearer age and content ratings.

With the launch of the PlayStation Family app, Sony is signalling a stronger commitment to child safety and giving parents more control over their children’s digital gaming environment.

PlayStation Family app is available for download on the App Store and Google Play in most markets.

Apple AirPods Pro 3 Launched With Upgrades, But The Case Has Smaller Battery and No Charging Cable In The Box

0

Highlights

  • While the AirPods Pro 3 offer 8 hours of playback (up from 6), the case holds less charge, making the total battery life drop to 24 hours.
  • Apple no longer bundles a USB-C cable, requiring users to buy one separately or rely on wireless charging.
  • AirPods Pro 3 introduces double the ANC performance, a built-in heart rate monitor, and live translation.

The newly launched AirPods Pro 3.

Apple has officially introduced the AirPods Pro 3, a next-gen version of its premium earbuds. It brings notable upgrades like double the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) performance, a built-in heart rate monitor, and even a live translation mode. While these features make the Pro 3 an exciting step up, there are a few drawbacks that potential buyers should know about.

AirPods Pro 3 Battery Life vs AirPods Pro 2

One of the biggest changes comes in terms of battery performance. The new earbuds offer up to 8 hours of continuous playback, an improvement over the 6 hours on the AirPods Pro 2. However, the charging case tells a different story. The total listening time (earbuds + case) is rated at 24 hours for the AirPods Pro 3, compared to 30 hours on the AirPods Pro 2.

This means that while the earbuds themselves last longer, the case packs a noticeably smaller battery. To break it down –

  • AirPods Pro 3 – 8 hours (buds) + 16 hours (case) = 24 hours total
  • AirPods Pro 2 – 6 hours (buds) + 24 hours (case) = 30 hours total
AirPods Pro 3 (top) and AirPods Pro 2 (bottom).

Apple hasn’t disclosed the exact battery capacity in milliamp-hours, so we’ll need to wait for teardowns to confirm. Interestingly, despite the smaller case battery, the AirPods Pro 3 earbuds are slightly smaller (5.55g vs 5.3g) while the case itself is larger in size but lighter overall (43.99g vs 50.8g).

The Pro 3 still runs on the Apple H2 chip, while the case has been upgraded to the U2 chip for improved Find My tracking (the previous version used the U1 chip).

No USB-C Cable in the Box

Another significant drawback is that Apple is no longer including a USB-C charging cable with the AirPods Pro 3. As clearly stated on the official product page, USB-C Charge Cable sold separately.”

Caption - Users will have to either use any existing cable or buy one separately.
Users will have to either use any existing cable or buy one separately. (Image credit – Apple)

This means you’ll either have to use an existing cable, buy one separately, or rely on wireless charging. While this aligns with Apple’s broader environmental push, the move has faced criticism and even legal challenges in the past.

Some customers see it as waste reduction, while others view it as an unnecessary cost-cutting measure.

The AirPods Pro 3 are priced at $249 and are available for pre-order now with shipping set to begin on September 19. For those looking to save money, the AirPods Pro 2 remain available at $199 (20% off), making them a solid alternative for buyers not ready to jump to the latest model.

FAQs

Q1. What are the key upgrades in AirPods Pro 3?

Answer. AirPods Pro 3 feature double the Active Noise Cancellation, a built-in heart rate monitor, and live translation mode, making them a major functional leap.

Q2. How does the battery life compare to AirPods Pro 2?

Answer. The earbuds now offer 8 hours of playback (up from 6), but the case holds less charge, total battery life drops to 24 hours vs. 30 hours on the Pro 2.

Q3. Is a USB-C charging cable included with AirPods Pro 3?

Answer. No. Apple has removed the USB-C cable from the box. Buyers must use an existing cable, purchase one separately, or rely on wireless charging.

Q4. What’s the price of AirPods Pro 3 and are older models still available?

Answer. AirPods Pro 3 are priced at $249 and ship from September 19. The AirPods Pro 2 remain available at $199, offering a more affordable alternative.

Samsung Trolls Apple iPhone 17 Launch With #iCant Campaign, Targets Camera Specs and Lack of Foldables

Highlights

  • Samsung reignited its rivalry with Apple by mocking the iPhone 17 launch.
  • The Korean brand reposted its old “Let us know when it folds” jab and criticised Apple’s lack of foldables and delayed features.
  • Samsung also made fun of Apple’s 48MP camera setup and slow rollout of health features like Sleep Score.

Apple’s iPhone 17 launch event was held on September 9, 2025 and it generated massive buzz across social media. But amid the excitement, Samsung reignited its long-running rivalry with Apple, mocking the tech giant’s slow feature rollouts and lack of foldable devices.

Shortly after the unveiling of the iPhone 17 lineup, Samsung Mobile US brought back a sharp jab from 2022, resharing its old post that read, “Let us know when it folds,” this time adding the caption “#iCant believe this is still relevant.”

The message clearly mocked Apple for still not entering the foldable smartphone market.

At Apple’s keynote, the company introduced several products, including the iPhone Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, AirPods Pro 3, Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE 3, and Apple Watch Ultra 3. Among these, the iPhone Air stood out as Apple’s thinnest iPhone yet, measuring just 5.6mm thick. CEO Tim Cook said it delivers “pro performance in a thin and light design.”

Samsung, however, took the opportunity to poke fun at Apple’s newest flagship.

Referring to the iPhone 17’s 48MP camera, Samsung posted on X/Twitter, “48MP x 3 still doesn’t equal 200MP #iCant!” Another jab targeted Apple’s delayed health-tracking features: “#iCant believe people had to wait five years for Sleep Score.”

As expected, Apple fans quickly jumped into the conversation.

While many defended the iPhone 17 series, some fired back at Samsung. One user wrote, “Stay relevant for the next decade.” Another sarcastically added, “Even we can’t believe that how folding phones are relevant.” Others reminded Samsung of past decisions, with a comment reading, “Remember when y’all said u wouldn’t remove headphone jacks where they at?”

During the launch, Apple executives emphasised the improvements coming with the new lineup. Kaiann Drance, Apple’s VP of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, described the iPhone 17 as “a big upgrade with powerful features that make iPhone even more useful in your day-to-day life, from the bigger and brighter ProMotion display with 3x better scratch resistance, to all-day battery life with faster charging, the A19 chip for powerful performance, a fantastic 48MP Dual Fusion camera system, and the innovative Center Stage front camera — our best front camera yet.”

The latest back-and-forth highlights how Samsung and Apple continue to use major product launches as opportunities to stoke their rivalry with social media serving as the battleground.

FAQs

Q1. Why did Samsung launch the #iCant campaign during Apple’s iPhone 17 event?

Answer. Samsung used the #iCant hashtag to mock Apple’s lack of foldable phones and slow feature rollouts, reviving its 2022 jab “Let us know when it folds” with a fresh twist.

Q2. What specific features did Samsung criticise in the iPhone 17 series?

Answer. Samsung targeted Apple’s 48MP camera setup, saying “48MP x 3 still doesn’t equal 200MP,” and mocked the delayed release of health features like Sleep Score.

Q3. How did Apple fans respond to Samsung’s trolling?

Answer. Reactions were mixed with some defended Apple’s innovations, while others clapped back at Samsung’s past decisions, including its removal of headphone jacks and relevance of foldables.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Leak Hints at Downgraded 10MP 3x Telephoto Camera

0

Highlights

  • The S26 Ultra may feature a downgraded 10MP 3x telephoto camera using a smaller 1/3.94-inch sensor with 1.0µm pixels.
  • It will be less capable than the S25 Ultra’s Sony IMX754 sensor (1/3.52-inch, 1.12µm), potentially impacting low-light and detail performance.
  • The 50MP 5x periscope lens, 200MP main wide camera, and 50MP ultra-wide lens are expected to remain unchanged.

Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S26 series in January 2026. A fresh leak has raised eyebrows among fans expecting major camera improvements. It appears Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra instead might actually take a step backwards in one area. Here’s what we are hearing.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Latest Leak

According to well-known tipster Ice Universe on X (formerly Twitter), the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature a 12MP sensor cropped to 10MP for its 3x telephoto camera. The leak claims the phone will use a 1/3.94-inch sensor with 1.0µm pixels.

This represents a downgrade compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s Sony IMX754 sensor, which offered 12MP (cropped to 10MP) with a 1/3.52-inch size and 1.12µm pixels. While the difference may seem small, sensor size and pixel pitch play a critical role in light capture, affecting low-light photography and overall image detail.

image

The rest of the camera system is expected to remain mostly unchanged. The standout 50MP 5x periscope telephoto lens (1/2.52-inch, 0.7µm, 111mm) from the S25 Ultra will reportedly carry over.

This keeps Samsung competitive, though rivals are moving quickly. Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro features a 48MP 5x telephoto, while several upcoming Ultra flagships from Chinese brands are rumoured to integrate Sony’s new 200MP sensor.

Ice Universe also revealed that Samsung had considered alternative options such as switching to a 50MP 4x telephoto setup, but technical limitations and timing issues prevented the change. A 200MP telephoto, on the other hand, was dismissed due to high costs.

As of now, Samsung’s main 200MP wide camera and 50MP ultra-wide lens are expected to remain the same as on the S25 Ultra. However, leaked renders showing a thicker camera bump have fueled speculation about possible new optics, though there’s little concrete evidence to confirm that.

If this leak turns out to be true, Samsung may rely heavily on software optimisations and advanced image processing to offset the rumoured hardware downgrade. Whether that will be enough to stay competitive in the flagship camera race against Apple and Chinese brands remains uncertain.

FAQs

Q1. What camera downgrade is expected in the Galaxy S26 Ultra?

Answer. Samsung may use a smaller 1/3.94-inch sensor with 1.0µm pixels for its 10MP 3x telephoto camera, down from the S25 Ultra’s 1/3.52-inch sensor with 1.12µm pixels. This could impact low-light performance and image detail.

Q2. Will the rest of the camera setup of Galaxy S26 Ultra change significantly?

Answer. No major changes are expected. The 50MP 5x periscope lens, 200MP main wide camera, and 50MP ultra-wide lens from the S25 Ultra are likely to carry over. Samsung reportedly explored upgrades like a 50MP 4x or 200MP telephoto but dropped them due to cost and timing issues.

Q3, How might Samsung compensate for the hardware downgrade of Galaxy S26 Ultra?

Answer. Samsung may rely on software optimisations and advanced image processing to maintain image quality. Leaked renders showing a thicker camera bump have sparked speculation about new optics, but no solid evidence confirms this yet.

Google has introduced a new subscription tier called AI Plus specifically for users in emerging markets. The company says the plan is “designed to empower people in emerging markets to do more with Google AI, for less.”

Positioned between the free plan and AI Pro (priced at $19.99 per month in the US), the new AI Plus tier brings several premium AI features at a more affordable cost.

With AI Plus, users get greater access to Gemini 2.5 Pro. Currently, free-tier users are limited to just five prompts per day, though Google has yet to confirm the exact daily prompt limit for AI Plus. For comparison, AI Pro offers 100 prompts per day, while AI Ultra provides 500.

The Gemini app under AI Plus comes with a 128K token context window, a notable jump from the 32K limit on free accounts, though still less than the 1 million tokens offered on higher tiers.

Subscribers also gain access to Veo 3 Fast, along with creative tools like Google Flow (video creation) and Whisk (standalone image-to-video). Additionally, AI Plus integrates Gemini into the side panel of Gmail, Google Docs, and Sheets, while also expanding NotebookLM usage for enhanced productivity.

One of the biggest perks included is 200GB of Google One cloud storage, adding extra value to the subscription.

As of now, Google AI Plus is available only in Indonesia, but the company says more countries will follow. In Indonesia, AI Pro costs Rp. 309,000 (around $18.79) per month, while AI Plus is priced at Rp. 75,000 (around $4.56). If expanded globally, the subscription will likely remain under $20 per month, though regional pricing will vary.

Apple has officially announced that iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 users will get an additional year of free access to its satellite communication services. The company revealed this extension in press materials for the newly launched iPhone 17 and iPhone Air models.

According to Apple, “The free trial will be extended for iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 users who have activated their device in a country that supports Apple’s satellite features prior to 12AM PT on September 9, 2025.”

This means that all eligible iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 devices activated before the deadline will continue to enjoy free access to satellite features until at least mid-September 2026.

Originally, free satellite access for iPhone 15 models was set to expire this month, while iPhone 14 users were supposed to lose access in September 2024. Apple has now extended the trial period twice for iPhone 14 owners, fueling speculation about whether the company plans to eventually charge for these services. Apple has not confirmed any pricing structure so far.

Some industry watchers believe Apple may never put these safety features behind a paywall. As one Redditor argued after last year’s announcement, “I can’t see Apple ever charging for [Emergency SOS via satellite]. The positive PR of ‘saved by Apple’ is too good, and the negative PR of ‘died because they didn’t pay $3’ is too bad.”

For now, the features remain free and include Emergency SOS via satellite, roadside assistance requests, messaging friends and family, and location sharing when users are outside cellular and Wi-Fi coverage.

Apple relies on Globalstar’s satellite network to power these services. However, availability varies by region. The features are not supported on iPhones sold in Armenia, Belarus, mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Russia, even though Apple sells devices in these markets.

With the extension, Apple is ensuring that more iPhone users continue to benefit from these life-saving satellite features, at least through late 2026.

Answer. iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models activated before 12AM PT on September 9, 2025, in supported countries will receive free satellite access until mid-September 2026.

Q2. What iPhone satellite features are included in the free trial?

Answer. Users get Emergency SOS via satellite, roadside assistance requests, location sharing, and messaging when outside cellular or Wi-Fi coverage.

Q3. Are these satellite services available worldwide?

Answer. No, Apple’s satellite features are unavailable in regions like China, Russia, Belarus, and others, even though iPhones are sold in those markets.
