Truecaller has announced it will discontinue its call recording feature on iPhones by the end of next month. The company shifts focus toward strengthening its core features such as automatic spam call blocking and real-time spam detection via Live Caller ID. Here’s more on the change.

No Trucaller Call Recording Support on iPhones

Starting September 30, the caller ID app will no longer support call recording on iOS devices. Confirming the change to TechCrunch, Nakul Kabra, Product Director iOS at Truecaller, stated that the decision was made to enhance the app’s anti-spam capabilities instead.

According to the report, this change will affect only iPhone users. From September 30 onward, not only will iOS users lose the ability to record calls using Truecaller, but they will also lose access to any previously recorded calls stored within the app.

To prevent data loss, users are advised to back up their recordings, share them via messaging apps, or switch the storage preference to iCloud.

How to Save Your Call Recordings on iPhone?

To ensure you don’t lose your call recordings on iPhone, follow these steps:

  • Open the Truecaller app.
  • Tap the Record tab at the bottom.
  • Tap the Settings (gear icon) in the top-right corner.
  • Go to Storage Preference and select iCloud storage.

If you’re unable to choose iCloud as the storage option, follow the below steps –

  • Open Settings on your iPhone.
  • Tap your Apple ID profile.
  • Go to iCloud > tap Saved to iCloud.
  • Enable the toggle next to Truecaller.

Users should make sure to complete these steps before September 30 to keep their call recordings safe.

As of now, no report has disclosed which chipsets power these upcoming devices. But tipster Abhishek Yadav recently spotted the “RMX5116” model, believed to be the Realme P4 Pro, on the Geekbench benchmarking platform. Yadav shared the details on X (formerly Twitter) along with a screenshot of a Reddit post revealing the internal rear design of the phone.

The prototype unit scored 1216 in the single-core test and 3533 in the multi-core test. The listing reveals a CPU setup with three clusters, 3 cores at 1.84GHz, 4 cores at 2.4GHz, and 1 core at 2.8GHz. The tested device also featured 12GB of RAM and an Adreno 722 GPU, strongly indicating that the P4 Pro will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC.
