OnePlus has officially confirmed that the OnePlus Pad 3 will launch globally on June 5. If you’re wondering about the specs and what the tablet offers overall, the good news is we already know a lot about the device. It is because the tablet is already available in China as the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro.

For the global market, OnePlus is renaming it to Pad 3 and giving it some software upgrades. The design has also been tweaked. The centre camera is gone and now there’s a flatter frame around the sides, giving it a more modern look.

But what really stands out is what’s happening on the software side.

OnePlus says the new tablet will deliver “next-level multitasking” thanks to an upgraded version of its Open Canvas feature. Open Canvas, which first appeared on the OnePlus Open in 2023, is already one of the better multitasking tools on Android, and now it’s coming to more devices including tablets and phones.

Another big addition is something OnePlus calls “seamless iOS syncing.” While there aren’t many details yet, this is likely tied to the O+ Connect app developed by OnePlus and Oppo. That app allows for wireless file sharing, Mac screen mirroring and more across devices, which means syncing your iPhone or Mac with the tablet might be easier than ever.

As for hardware, the OnePlus Pad 3 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite” chip and features a 13.2-inch LCD with a 2400×3392 resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. It runs on Android 15 and comes with 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of RAM, and 256GB or 512GB of storage.

You also get a 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera and a 12,140mAh battery that supports 67W wired charging.

On its website, OnePlus is already teasing some launch offers. There’s a $30 discount, a trade-in program and even a sweepstakes where you could win a free OnePlus 13R.

You can also pay just €1 now to lock in a €99.99 discount for when the tablet officially goes on sale. That early access offer also includes a €50 coupon and a gift code for the OnePlus SuperVOOC 80W Dual Ports GaN Power Adapter Kit, which probably means the charger won’t be included in the box.

OnePlus has officially replaced its iconic Alert Slider with something new called the “Plus Key.” And while it’s being pitched as a fresh idea, tech enthusiasts online could let us ignore how closely it resembles what Apple already offers with the iPhone’s Action Button.

In a short teaser video shared on X (formerly Twitter) and later reposted by OnePlus founder Pete Lau, we get a glimpse of its features.

In the 10-second clip, the Plus Key appears to be a customisable shortcut button. You can use it to switch ringer modes, enable Do Not Disturb, open the camera, turn on the flashlight and possibly even mute the mic, launch a translation tool, or take a screenshot.

There’s also a hint of some kind of AI-powered function, though it’s unclear exactly what that does.

The interface shown in the video looks a lot like the Action Button UI on recent iPhones. It’s not subtle and the timing of the switch from the Alert Slider only adds to the iPhone comparisons.

However, there are a few differences. A quietly released blog post reveals that OnePlus has its own software interface for customising the Plus Key, and yes, they’re also pushing some AI integration as part of the experience.

image

In a blog, OnePlus explains, “Unlike traditional hardware switches with fixed functions, the Plus Key is intelligent and customizable. That means you decide what it does and as your needs change, so can the button.”

“With OnePlus AI, Plus Key is more than just a shortcut, it’s a gateway to something smarter. It adds to your experience in ways that go beyond the obvious. Whether it’s your daily habits or the little things you do without thinking, the Plus Key quietly adapts and evolves with you. One press today. A whole new way to interact with your phone tomorrow,” the company blog adds.

The OnePlus 13s, known as the 13T in China, will be the first phone to feature the Plus Key. OnePlus is expected to roll it out on future devices too including the successor to the OnePlus 13.

Lifetime Display Warranty for OnePlus 13s

Meanwhile, the brand released another teaser video confirming a key aspect of the upcoming device. The OnePlus showed off a new green colour variant of the OnePlus 13s in a separate teaser and shared that the phone will come with lifetime display warranty for issues related to the green line problem.

The company confirmed that users will get free screen replacements, but only for this specific issue. It won’t cover physical or external damage.

This isn’t a new move from OnePlus. Back in December, the brand extended the lifetime display warranty to all existing OnePlus phones under its “Green Line Worry-Free Solution”. The company said this decision was made possible thanks to progress in display tech and was aimed at tackling the increasing reports of green line issues. Phones like the OnePlus 13 and 13R also launched with this warranty earlier this year.

OnePlus 13s – What to Expect?

The OnePlus 13s is expected to launch in India soon and it’s shaping up to be the most compact model in the OnePlus 13 series thanks to its 6.32-inch display.

It’ll run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite Edition” chip, the same as the OnePlus 13. The phone could come with up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The OLED display will likely offer FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 1600 nits peak brightness and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

On the camera front, the 13s is rumoured to include two 50MP rear sensors and a 16MP front camera. Powering everything could be a 6,260mAh battery with support for 80W wired fast charging.

One thing to note is that the OnePlus 13T/s will not be launching in the US or Europe.

FAQs

Q1. What is the OnePlus “Plus Key” and how does it work?

Answer. The Plus Key is a customisable shortcut button replacing the Alert Slider on OnePlus devices. The feature also integrates with OnePlus AI, adapting to user habits.

Q2. What is included in the OnePlus 13s Lifetime Display Warranty?

Answer. The OnePlus 13s comes with a lifetime display warranty, specifically covering the green line issue. Users will receive free screen replacements, but the warranty does not cover physical or external damage.

The camera setup includes two 50MP rear sensors and a 16MP front camera, while a 6,260mAh battery supports 80W fast charging.

Huawei has officially stepped into the foldable laptop space with the launch of the MateBook Fold ULTIMATE DESIGN. It is the first commercial notebook with a folding screen and it isn’t just any foldable. It’s the world’s largest commercial foldable PC featuring a dual-layer OLED display that opens up to 18 inches and folds down to a compact 13-inch size. But there’s more to it than just the screen.

image

Caption – HUAWEI MateBook Fold ULTIMATE DESIGN. (Image credit – Huawei)

It’s also the first Huawei laptop to run HarmonyOS for PC and to feature the company’s own chip under the hood. So, here’s everything we know about the new piece of tech.

Huawei MateBook Fold ULTIMATE DESIGN – Design and Display

Here’s how special the MateBook Fold ULTIMATE DESIGN is. Once unfolded, you get an 18-inch 3.3K LTPO OLED display in a 4:3 aspect ratio, while folding it transforms the device into a 13-inch 3:2 screen. The panel uses dual-layer OLED tech and supports 1600 nits peak brightness with a dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1. Huawei has added a carbon fibre support layer to boost impact resistance by three times.

image

Even with all this tech, the MateBook Fold remains surprisingly lightweight and thin, weighing just 1.16kg and measuring 7.3mm at its thinnest when unfolded.

The device has a leather finish and comes in three colours – Forged Shadow Black, Sky White and Cloud Blue. The black variant stands out with a special “Forging Shadow Cloud Pattern” and a “Black Gold Waistline” design on the back.

image image

A big part of the design is the 285mm folding hinge, which is the largest in the industry, according to Huawei. It uses a three-stage shaft with uniform torque for a smoother and more precise folding experience. The hinge opens in a water-drop shape, which helps reduce screen stress. Huawei claims a 400% boost in hovering torque and twice the spindle machining accuracy.

Thanks to this hinge, the MateBook Fold can stay open at various angles, from fully flat to a stable 150-degree hover, making it flexible for different use cases. The cooling system includes dual fans and a thin anti-gravity vapor chamber to keep things running smoothly.

Huawei MateBook Fold ULTIMATE DESIGN – Performance and Software

image

Under the hood, the MateBook Fold runs on Huawei’s in-house chip, though details are still under wraps. It boots up with HarmonyOS 5 for PC, introducing features aimed at blending mobile and desktop experiences under a “one system, unified ecology” approach.

It supports distributed soft bus interconnection for fast file transfers and smooth multitasking across connected devices with data transfer speeds reaching up to 160MB/s. The system allows up to four devices to connect and interact seamlessly.

You’ll find a range of new touch and gesture controls too. For example, swiping up plays a video, swiping down shows comments, and you can even cast part of the screen while using the rest. There are also unique gestures like five-finger scrolling (“waterfall screen browsing”) and eight-finger taps to launch the virtual keyboard.

No New AirPods Pro Until AirPods Pro 3 Comes in 2026, Says Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo

0

Highlights

  • According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the AirPods Pro 3 won’t arrive until 2026 and may feature Infrared cameras.
  • Apple introduced AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation at a lower price.
  • While new hardware is delayed, Apple continues improving AirPods Pro 2 with software updates.

image

Caption – Reports suggest no AirPods Pro 3 are expected until 2026. (Image credit – Apple)

The reports for the next AirPods Pro just got complicated after the recent update shared by well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. It appears we shouldn’t expect a new version of AirPods Pro anytime soon. According to Kuo, there won’t be any major hardware updates to the AirPods lineup this year.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Kuo revealed that the next big upgrade i.e. AirPods Pro 3 won’t arrive until 2026 and will likely include Infrared cameras. “AirPods may not see significant updates until 2026 (aligning with my earlier prediction that IR camera-equipped AirPods would enter mass production in 2026). A lighter version of the AirPods Max is expected to enter mass production in 2027,writes Kuo.

This timeline goes against earlier reports that suggested the AirPods Pro 3 might launch in 2025 with features like better active noise cancellation. Considering the AirPods Pro 2 launched back in 2022, a four-year gap between models seems unusually long, especially since it’s Apple’s most popular and most profitable AirPods model.

There were also rumours that the next-gen AirPods Pro would include a heart rate sensor, something that already made its way to the new Powerbeats Pro 4.

Adding to the confusion, Apple introduced the more affordable AirPods 4 lineup last fall, which came with Active Noise Cancellation at a starting price of $179. This move somewhat blurred the gap between standard AirPods and the premium Pro models.

Meanwhile, Apple hasn’t left current AirPods Pro users behind. The company has added new features to the AirPods Pro 2 through regular software updates. The most notable being the AirPods can now function as licensed hearing aids for people with mild-to-moderate hearing loss.

Things look even more uncertain for fans of the AirPods Max. Kuo suggests that a new version of the over-ear headphones may not launch until 2027 at the earliest.

FAQs

Q1. When will Apple launch the AirPods Pro 3?

Answer. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that AirPods Pro 3 won’t arrive until 2026 and may include Infrared cameras, contradicting earlier 2025 launch expectations.

Q2. Has Apple introduced new features for current AirPods Pro users?

Answer. Yes! Apple has added features through software updates, including a licensed hearing aid function for AirPods Pro 2 users with mild-to-moderate hearing loss.

Q3. When are the new AirPods Max coming?

Answer. According to Kuo, Apple may not release a new version of the AirPods Max until 2027 at the earliest, suggesting a long wait for over-ear headphone users.

Apple may not showcase any big Siri upgrades at WWDC 2025, according to a new report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The company’s plans for “Apple Intelligence” are facing delays and Apple is dealing with leadership disagreements, slow decision-making and a cautious approach to AI that’s caused it to fall behind rivals. Here’s what we know based on the latest report.

What WWDC 2025 Might Look Like?

Gurman says Apple is “unlikely” to highlight Siri at WWDC 2025. Major updates are still months away. Instead, the company will focus on launching iOS 19 and gradually rolling out Apple Intelligence to more apps.

Expected updates include –

  • A new AI-powered battery optimisation tool
  • “Project Mulberry,” a virtual health coach
  • A new feature for European users to replace Siri with third-party voice assistants
  • Continued work on “LLM Siri,” a long-term plan to fix Siri’s architecture

Interestingly, Apple is planning to separate Siri from Apple Intelligence in its marketing, likely because Siri’s outdated reputation could damage the brand’s newer AI efforts. Apple also wants to avoid announcing features before they’re fully ready, a shift from past launches.

Apple’s AI Journey

While Apple was early to voice assistants with Siri, it has since lost ground in the rapidly growing AI space. Gurman’s report points out that Apple hesitated to invest in generative AI. Key figures like software head Craig Federighi were reportedly “reluctant” to support it, seeing it as a distraction from Apple’s main goals. Federighi believed AI wasn’t a “core capability” and didn’t want to shift focus away from more traditional products.

Other senior execs shared similar views. Some felt that AI requires a big upfront investment with no guaranteed outcome, something that didn’t sit well with Apple’s usual product-first culture. Even though some insiders saw AI as “revolutionary,” their efforts to convince Federighi reportedly didn’t make much difference.

“Other leaders shared Federighi’s reservations. In the world of AI, you really don’t know what the product is until you’ve done the investment,” another longtime executive was quoted in the report. “That’s not how Apple is wired. Apple sits down to build a product knowing what the endgame is,” wrote Gurman in his report.

Meanwhile, Apple’s AI chief John Giannandrea (who joined from Google in 2018) pushed for more investment and tried to streamline the company’s AI efforts. But his plans were often met with resistance too, according to Gurman.

Missed Deadlines for Apple Intelligence

Apple introduced “Apple Intelligence” at WWDC 2023 with features like smart writing tools, improved notifications, custom emojis (Genmoji) and a revamped Siri. The concept was branded “AI for the rest of us,” referencing Apple’s classic Mac slogan.

But most features missed their original launch windows –

  • AI writing tools and summaries only arrived six weeks after the iPhone 16 launched.
  • Genmoji didn’t launch until December 2023.
  • Notification upgrades were delayed until March 2024.

The most anticipated update hasn’t materialised. According to Gurman, Federighi tested iOS 18.4 in early 2025 and found key features like asking Siri for your driver’s license number simply didn’t work. Internal demos were reportedly just pre-recorded videos. As a result, the Siri upgrade was delayed indefinitely.

Despite this, Apple continued marketing these features, which has led to class-action lawsuits accusing the company of false advertising.

Broader AI Struggles at Apple

Gurman’s report paints a bigger picture of Apple falling behind in AI. The company has fewer AI engineers than competitors and hasn’t invested in GPUs as aggressively. Even attempts to buy AI-focused companies like Mobileye Global Inc. didn’t work out. Though Apple developed the Neural Engine as part of its car project, other ideas, like autonomous driving, were ultimately scrapped.

Some insiders described Apple’s AI efforts as a “sinking ship.” Apple’s slow, polished product approach hasn’t meshed well with the fast-paced nature of AI. Longtime executive Eddy Cue reportedly warned that Apple’s dominance could fade. In a recent testimony, he said the iPhone might become irrelevant within 10 years.

Siri was introduced just before Steve Jobs passed away and was meant to be a game-changing feature. Jobs imagined it as a major part of Apple’s future interface. But after launch, Siri became more of a simple assistant, handling basic tasks while Apple shifted focus to things like Maps, Photos, and biometric tools.

Attempts to deeply integrate AI into iOS around 2014 reportedly ran into resistance from Federighi. While Apple bought a few small AI companies like Turi and Tuplejump, its overall AI spending fell short of what its rivals were doing.

Some executives now believe this slow approach reflects Apple’s careful, long development cycles just don’t match the rapid experimentation AI demands.

Gurman concludes that Apple still has the money, talent and brand power to make a comeback in AI but it needs a clearer strategy, more internal alignment and quicker execution. While a stronger AI push is expected eventually, much of Apple’s vision remains a work in progress for now.

Even with all the buzz around GTA 6, Rockstar Games is still raking in huge numbers with GTA 5. In the latest financial report from publisher Take-Two, it was revealed that GTA 5 has sold another 5 million copies in the last quarter alone. That’s the same pace it’s been keeping all year and pretty incredible for a game that launched over a decade ago.

Take-Two confirmed that GTA 5 has now reached a total of 215 million units sold, up from 210 million in the previous quarter. This number includes some physical stock still held by retailers. Still, the demand clearly hasn’t slowed down.

It’s not just GTA 5 doing well. Red Dead Redemption 2 sold another 4 million copies in the last three months. The game is now officially the “best-selling title of the past 7 years in the US based on dollar sales,” despite Rockstar having more or less stopped updating it.

Meanwhile, GTA Online continues to get regular content and support. During an investor Q&A, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick called GTA 5 the “standard-bearer for our industry,” showing how strong the franchise still is even as players wait for what’s next.

The first trailer for GTA 6 has already made waves, and it even caught the attention of Mike York, a former Rockstar animator who worked on GTA 5 and RDR2. He shared a reaction video on his YouTube channel York Street Gaming, which quickly went viral thanks to his enthusiastic breakdown of the trailer’s visuals.

Clearly impressed, York asked, “Is this game really gonna look like this?” He emphasised that what viewers saw wasn’t just cinematic footage, it was actual gameplay. “These are insane,” he said, pointing out how Rockstar seems to be pushing current-gen hardware to the limit

Check out the full reaction video –

As someone who worked directly on character animation, York highlighted the incredible detail in the trailer from realistic lighting and reflections to believable character movement. He even noted that things like shadows, trash and NPC behaviour seemed carefully crafted, suggesting that every inch of the game world is packed with intentional detail.

York was especially impressed by how background NPCs were animated showing some were fighting, others drinking or smoking and some were just existing naturally in the environment. According to him, this level of ambient animation is something Rockstar has always been known for, but GTA 6 seems to take it to another level.

Even though York no longer works at Rockstar, his reaction carries weight thanks to his hands-on experience with the company’s development process. He praised the trailer as a “testament to Rockstar’s evolution” and seemed genuinely excited about the direction the studio is taking.
