Apple’s new iOS 26 update might not look like a big leap at first glance with its fresh Liquid Glass design taking centre stage. But it quietly adds some smart new features under the hood. One of the most useful additions is a new AI-powered battery-saving tool called Adaptive Power. Although the catch is that it is only available on select iPhones. Here’s what we know.

Adaptive Power is a new setting under Power Mode that uses Apple’s on-device AI known as Apple Intelligence to make small adjustments that help your iPhone last longer throughout the day.

As Apple explains, “When your battery usage is higher than usual, iPhone can make small performance adjustments to extend your battery life, including slightly lowering the display brightness or allowing some activities to take a little longer. Low Power Mode may turn on at 20 per cent.”

So, it doesn’t drastically slow down your phone, just makes minor tweaks when needed to stretch your battery a bit further.

Which iPhones Support Adaptive Power?

Not every iPhone getting iOS 26 will support this feature. According to MacRumors, Adaptive Power only works on devices that have Apple Intelligence, which includes –

  • iPhone 15 Pro
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max
  • iPhone 16, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max
  • iPhone 16e

Apart from these, the regular iPhone 15 also doesn’t support it even though it runs the same version of iOS. It is because the model lacks the AI capabilities required.

According to tipster Majin Bu, the base iPhone 17 model might come in new Purple and Green colour options, while the Pro models could feature a much-needed cooling upgrade.

Majin Bu says the purple option has a “vibrant and modern hue crafted for those seeking a device with bold personality,” while the green one may “offer a fresh and natural tone, ideal for a minimalist yet striking aesthetic.”

While both colours are being tested, it’s possible that only one will make it to the final launch with Purple likely getting the nod. If finalised, this would mark the return of the Purple shade last seen on the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro.

Previous leaked images also suggest the iPhone 17 will feature a design similar to the iPhone 16 with dual vertically aligned cameras inside a pill-shaped module. HONOR has officially revealed the design of its upcoming foldable phone, the HONOR Magic V5. The brand recently confirmed that the phone will launch in China on July 2. Now, recent official updates have claimed that it will be the world’s thinnest foldable phone, measuring just 8.8mm when folded, breaking its own previous record set by the Magic V3. HONOR, in a series of posts on Weibo, has shared official press images and a design video of the upcoming Magic V5. The images and video gives us a good look at the upcoming foldable.

Official look reveals the phone will be available in a shiny new gold colour with a textured back and hinge, adding a premium touch. The back also features a large camera island, housing three sensors, reportedly a main camera, an ultrawide, and a periscope telephoto lens. Rumours have already hinted that the main sensor could go up to 200MP.
