We have heard about the Samsung Tri-Fold before but now comes the word from an official source. It appears Samsung has finished developing its first tri-fold smartphone, but it’s not ready to release it just yet. According to a company executive, the device is production-ready but Samsung is holding back to see if there’s enough real-world demand.

In a chat with Android Authority, the executive confirmed, “We’ve had a tri-fold for some time, designed and everything. So it’s not a new concept to us. What we’re debating is the viability. When I say the viability, is there really a demand for this form factor?” Samsung clearly wants to avoid launching something that might be too ahead of its time.

Some reports have previously hinted that the Samsung tri-fold might be called the Galaxy G Fold, though it is not official.

Reports suggest Samsung’s G Fold follows a G-shaped design with two inward folds to better protect the screen. This is different from what we have seen in Huawei’s outward-folding Mate XT, which uses an S-shaped design.

However, the G-shaped setup also requires a separate cover display. The G Fold is expected to be a high-end device priced over $3,000, compared to the $1,999 Galaxy Z Fold7, due to its complex engineering and premium materials.

Samsung has also added durability upgrades including a titanium frame and an IP48 rating for water and dust resistance. The phone is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite with a 10-inch AMOLED display when fully unfolded, taking aim at Huawei’s 10.2-inch Mate XT.

There’s talk that Samsung might quietly release the G Fold in limited quantities in South Korea and China later this year, possibly starting production in September to test how the market reacts. Still, with tri-folds making up just 1% of global smartphone sales in 2024 according to Counterpoint Research, Samsung is being cautious.

In another conversation with Android Authority, a Samsung South Africa official confirmed that the Galaxy Tab S11 series is on track for a September 2025 launch. It is not a surprise since this is completely in line with Samsung’s usual timeline.

The executive (as per Android Authority) said, “So Samsung will be announcing a (Galaxy Tab) refresh for the range coming through, shortly. In line with our traditional cadence.”

The new lineup will reportedly feature just two models, the Galaxy Tab S11 and the larger Tab S11 Ultra. If true, it would mean the company is dropping the “Plus” variant this time. The base model brings back the compact 11-inch AMOLED display, something many fans missed last year.

Both tablets will run on MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9400+ chip, an upgrade over last year’s Dimensity 9300+. They’ll ship with Android 16 and One UI 8, along with bigger batteries. The Tab S11 is said to pack an 8,400mAh battery, while the Ultra will keep its 14.6-inch display.

The focus will also be on Galaxy AI-powered features aimed at multitasking and improving cross-device performance. According to Geekbench leaks, the base model scored 1420 (single-core) and 5312 (multi-core), while the Ultra variant posted stronger numbers a few days later. The CPU scores of Tab S11 Ultra hit 2,675 points in single-core and 8,039 points in multi-core tests. As of now, it’s unclear if these scores reflect final performance or early testing.

Samsung is expected to open pre-orders closer to launch via Samsung.com and other major retailers.

Moreover, this certification appearance doesn’t just reveal specs that it also includes a real-life image of the phone.

The image is not as clear as a press render but still gives us our first glimpse at the device. On the front, there’s a centred punch-hole selfie camera with slim bezels, following Samsung’s current design trend. The back panel shows a vertical triple-camera setup, just like the previous FE model.

Fossil has introduced two special-edition timepieces under its Marvel x Fossil Fantastic Four collection. One is based on Reed Richards’ iconic wrist-computer from the upcoming film Fantastic Four: First Steps.

The second, launching on July 14, 2025, takes inspiration from the powerful cosmic villain, Galactus. Here’s all we know about the new launches.

Galactus Limited Edition Watch

The latest reveal is the Galactus-themed watch, which features a bold 48mm case. The dial showcases glowing artwork of Galactus set against a galaxy-inspired backdrop that is taken straight from Super-Villain Classics: Galactus The Origin #1.

The back of the case includes a full-colour image of Galactus along with a unique engraved number indicating its limited-edition status. The watch is powered by a quartz three-hand movement.

Adding to its cosmic vibe, the watch has a purple metal-link strap that matches the central design. It also comes in themed packaging, complete with a Silver Surfer lapel pin and a certificate of authenticity.

Only 683 units of this watch are being produced.

Reed Richards Watch – LE1210SET

The first model in the series has already been released and is based on Reed Richards’ retro-futuristic wrist-computer from the upcoming movie. The LE1210SET features a combination of a negative digital display on the top and an analogue quartz dial with three matte black hands.

It comes in a 32mm silver-colored stainless steel case with a black leather strap. The Fantastic Four logo is engraved on both the strap and the back of the case. It’s also water-resistant up to 3ATM and runs on a V371MF battery.

This edition was limited to 804 units and was priced at $295, £299, or €339. It sold out quickly after its global release.

Availability

The Galactus edition watch will launch worldwide on July 14. While Fossil hasn’t revealed the official price yet, it’s expected to fall in the same range as the Reed Richards model.

Casio Limited-Edition G-Shock Collection

Meanwhile, Casio has also joined the celebration of The Fantastic Four: First Steps movie with a new limited-edition G-Shock collection.

The four white-and-blue watches in this series are themed around the main characters including Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing. Each watch is designed to reflect the unique personalities of the characters. The film is set to hit UK cinemas on July 24.

Google is now rolling out its AI Mode in Search to users across India. This new feature is built right into the regular Google Search and brings detailed, AI-generated answers instead of just a list of links. You can ask anything, any way and get complete, context-rich responses directly in your search results.

Google first launched AI Mode in the U.S. earlier this year. It was introduced to Indian users via Search Labs in June, but now it’s being rolled out more widely and you don’t need to sign up anymore. For now, though, it’s only available in English.

What Is Google AI Mode in Search?

AI Mode gives you a fully written-out response that pulls together information from all over the internet, instead of showing just websites. It’s especially helpful for layered or complex questions that would normally require multiple searches.

The system is powered by Google’s Gemini 2.5 model, which breaks your query into smaller parts, finds relevant content, and combines it into a neat, easy-to-read summary. You’ll also get links for more info and the option to ask follow-up questions.

Google says AI Mode shines when you’re exploring topics like comparing products, planning a trip, or understanding something technical. According to the company, users ask questions that are 2–3 times longer than usual, often looking for in-depth advice or guidance.

Behind the scenes, AI Mode uses a technique called “query fan-out” as it splits your question into smaller parts, does multiple searches, and pieces together the results into one helpful answer. This helps it go deeper and even uncover content that standard searches might miss.

How to Use Google Search AI Mode?

You can access AI Mode through a new “AI Mode” tab in your Google Search results or right from the Google app’s search bar. You can type your question, use voice input, or even upload a photo using Google Lens.
