As of now, standard iQOO 16 is rumoured to launch in India as early as next month and there is also iQOO 16R on the way. Now, a new certification listing has revealed the existence of another device, which could arrive as the iQOO 16s in Malaysia. Here’s what we know so far.
iQOO 16s Gets Malaysia’s SIRIM Certification

According to a recent post by Anvin @ZionsAnvin on X, an upcoming iQOO smartphone bearing the model number I2606 has appeared on Malaysia’s SIRIM certification platform. The listing identifies the device as the iQOO 16s and suggests that the brand could use this name for the phone in the Malaysian market.
This is not the first time the I2606 model number has surfaced online. The same device has previously appeared on the TKDN and EEC certification platforms as well as the IMEI database.
While the recent SIRIM listing points to the iQOO 16s name, the IMEI database had associated the model with the iQOO 16R branding.
This suggests that iQOO could sell the same smartphone under different names in different markets. However, the company has not officially confirmed the device or its marketing names yet.

iQOO 16s Expected Specifications and Features
The SIRIM certification does not reveal any hardware details of the upcoming iQOO 16s. However, based on its reported connection with the iQOO 16R, the phone could share its specifications with the latter.

The iQOO 16R is itself expected to be a rebranded version of the upcoming iQOO Z12 Turbo, which is reportedly being developed for the Chinese market. If these reports are accurate, the iQOO 16s could feature a 6.59-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a high refresh rate.
The smartphone is also tipped to be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 chipset. It can also stand out for the large 10,000mAh battery, which could make it an interesting option for users who prioritise battery life.
For photography, the iQOO 16s could feature a 50-megapixel dual-camera setup on the back. On the front, it is expected to include a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. These camera specifications are said to be similar to those of the previous generation.
iQOO 16s Launch Timeline
It is worth noting that all these details are based on early reports and leaks. The SIRIM listing only confirms the iQOO 16s name associated with the I2606 model number in Malaysia and does not reveal its specifications or launch timeline.
