Meanwhile, a tipster has shared some of its expected specifications including a high-refresh-rate display, a new Snapdragon chipset and a large battery.
iQOO 16R Receives TKDN Certification in Indonesia
The upcoming iQOO 16R with model number I2606 has been listed on Indonesia’s TKDN database under the mobile phone category within telecommunication equipment. The listing mentions support for GSM, WCDMA, 4G LTE and 5G NR connectivity.
The certification also lists GSM 900/1800MHz and WCDMA 900/2100MHz support along with FDD-LTE bands B1, B3, B5, B8 and B28, and TDD-LTE bands B40 and B41.
While the listing suggests that the device could be headed to Indonesia, it does not reveal its full specifications or confirm a launch date.
iQOO 16R Could Be Based on the iQOO Z12 Turbo
According to tipster Anvin, the global iQOO 16R could be based on the China-market iQOO Z12 Turbo. However, iQOO has not confirmed this connection, so the two phones’ specifications should not be treated as identical at this stage.

The company has previously used different names for smartphones launched in China and international markets. For instance, the iQOO 15R launched in India in February 2026 as a rebranded version of the China-exclusive iQOO Z11 Turbo.
iQOO 16R Specifications Tipped: 10,000mAh Battery, Cooling Fan
The iQOO 16R is rumoured to feature a 6.59-inch display with a high refresh rate. According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the China-market iQOO Z12 Turbo could support a refresh rate of at least 165Hz, although the exact display specifications remain unconfirmed.
In response to a user comment, the tipster also hinted that the upcoming smartphone could to use an upcoming Qualcomm chipset potentially called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro.
Another possible feature is a built-in cooling fan, which iQOO is reportedly evaluating to help manage heat during extended gaming sessions.
The iQOO 16R has also been tipped to pack a battery of around 10,000mAh. However, its final battery capacity, charging speed and cooling solution remain unknown.
