iQOO Neo 12 Launch Date Confirmed
The iQOO Neo 12 will launch in China on October 28 at 7 PM local time. Sales are scheduled to begin immediately after the announcement, meaning customers in China will not have to wait for a separate sale date.
The smartphone is positioned as a gaming-focused device with upgrades to its processor, display, cooling system and battery.

iQOO Neo 12 Design and Colours
The iQOO Neo 12 features a redesigned rear panel with a large, rounded-square camera module positioned in the top-left corner. The module houses two vertically stacked camera lenses along with a section marked “Monster Inside” and a circular grille that appears to accommodate the built-in cooling fan. The rear flash sits outside the camera module.
A flat metal frame and rounded corners complete the design. The side frame also features slots that appear to function as exhaust vents for the active cooling system.
iQOO has revealed three colour options for the Neo 12 ahead of its China launch:
- Fierce Edge: A white finish.
- Frost Blade Blue: A light blue finish with a textured appearance.
- Shadow Black: A black finish.

The company has also collaborated with the China Academy of Art on a new colourway. The Zhengfeng finish features a dynamic texture that produces a flowing light effect when viewed from different angles.
The Frost Blade Blue variant has a pale silver-blue appearance with diagonal patterns across the rear panel.
iQOO Neo 12 Expected Specs
Processor and Gaming Features
The iQOO Neo 12 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It will also feature iQOO’s dedicated Q3 gaming chip and an updated Monster Super Core Engine to enhance gaming performance.
The phone’s Ice Dome cooling system includes an active cooling fan designed to manage heat during intensive gaming sessions. The cooling fan and exhaust vents are among the key hardware differences compared with the previous generation.
iQOO claims that the Neo 12 will support compatible games at 2K resolution and 185fps with super-resolution and frame interpolation running simultaneously. The phone is also expected to support more than 50 native 185fps games, along with full-scene ray tracing and Q-Flex controls.
Display and Touch Technology
The iQOO Neo 12 will feature a 2K display with a 185Hz refresh rate. The panel uses pTSF light-emitting technology and is rated for up to 2,200 nits of full-screen peak brightness.
Other display features include XDR dynamic range enhancement, circular polarisation display technology and a 1-nit sleep screen.
The smartphone will also use the same touch chip as the iQOO 16. It supports an instant touch sampling rate of up to 5,000Hz and a multi-touch sampling rate of up to 500Hz. These high sampling rates are intended to improve touch responsiveness, particularly during fast-paced games.
Battery and Charging
The iQOO Neo 12 will pack a 9,000mAh Blue Ocean battery. The battery uses a single-cell design and fifth-generation silicon-anode technology, with an energy density rated at 916Wh/L.
The phone will support 100W wired charging. Its large battery capacity, combined with the high-performance processor and active cooling system, is intended to make the device suitable for extended gaming sessions.
RAM, Software and Other Expected Details
A Geekbench listing reportedly associated with the device points to 16GB of RAM, Android 17-based OriginOS 7 and an Adreno 840 GPU. However, iQOO has not officially confirmed these details.
iQOO Neo 12 Expected India Availability
The iQOO Neo 12’s India launch has not been confirmed, although a tipster recently suggested that the smartphone could arrive in the country. However, neither an India launch nor the iQOO 16R branding has been officially confirmed for the upcoming phone.
