Samsung Display has confirmed that the upcoming iQOO 15 will be the first smartphone in the world to feature its next-generation 2K LEAD OLED panel. This new technology marks a significant leap in display innovation and is also rumoured to appear in the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, expected to launch in January 2026. Here’s everything we know about the new tech so far.
Samsung says the LEAD OLED integrates its latest luminous materials to deliver better clarity, efficiency, and durability. Compared to previous OLED panels, it offers 740% higher peak brightness, 44% lower power consumption, 50% longer luminous material lifespan and 76% overall efficiency improvement.
A key advancement in LEAD OLED is the removal of the traditional polariser layer, which improves light transmittance, reduces energy loss, and enhances brightness.
The technology has already gained recognition, winning “Display of the Year” from the Society for Information Display (SID) in 2025. Samsung highlights that LEAD OLED emphasises low-power design, eco-friendly materials, stronger colour reproduction, and unique design differentiation, setting a new standard for premium OLED panels.
The iQOO 15 will be the first-ever smartphone to adopt this cutting-edge display, showcasing Samsung’s most advanced screen innovation to date. While Samsung and iQOO have collaborated in the past, this launch signals the beginning of a deeper partnership in visual technologies.
The iQOO 15 aims to combine Samsung’s LEAD OLED with flagship-grade hardware to deliver a powerful balance of design, clarity, and performance. Full specifications and Indian pricing will be disclosed at launch.
