Huawei has joined the foldable smartphone market with the new Pura X Max, featuring a wide foldable design. This new flagship is designed to be more practical and immersive than other foldable phones.
The Pura X Max stands out with its wide, passport-style folding design, unlike the taller, narrower foldables on the market. This horizontal fold provides a tablet-like experience that is well-suited to multitasking, gaming, and watching videos.
The phone is expected to have a 7.69-inch inner display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 5.5-inch outer screen, making it useful for both productivity and convenience.
Huawei will offer the phone in several premium colours, including Phantom Night Black, Zero Degree White, Interstellar Blue, Olive Gold, and Vibrant Orange.
Early previews also showed blue, white, orange, and black versions.
The Huawei Pura X Max is expected to include high-end hardware and new features:
These features make the device a strong competitor among premium foldable phones.
Huawei has confirmed that the Pura X Max will officially launch in China on April 20, 2026, together with the Pura 90 series. The device is already available for pre-order in China. It will soon be released in other markets as well.
Official pricing is not out yet, but early estimates suggest it will cost between $800 and $1,200 (about Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 1 lakh), depending on the version. This puts it in line with other premium foldable phones.
The Huawei Pura X Max is expected to offer a more practical foldable experience thanks to its wider screen. Users should find it easier to multitask, watch videos, and be more productive, addressing a common issue with older foldables.
