Instant messaging app WhatsApp has been very crucial in bringing your family and friends together. Users can create a group on WhatsApp for easy and convenient communication. WhatsApp groups allow you to exchange messages with more than one person in one go, share photos, make announcements about any events and communicate important information regarding your workplace, school, or community.
Many a time we create a WhatsApp group for a purpose such as an exam or any festival or function in the family to share updated information with those who are concerned. Once the event gets over, users prefer to delete that group. Deleting a WhatsApp app group is a multi-step process, it is not that complicated or time-consuming unless it’s a massive group. Here is how who can delete a WhatsApp group if it is no longer needed:
To delete a WhatsApp group for all group participants, the group admin needs to remove all group participants, and then exit the group.
After deleting the group, it will be disappeared from the chat list and the chat history will also disappear from your phone.
Despite getting deleted, other participants will still be able to see the group in their chat list. However, they will not be able to send messages.
Step 1: To remove participants from the group, the admin needs to open the WhatsApp group chat, then select the group subject. Alternatively, you can also tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab.
Step 2: Admin needs to tap the participant’s name to remove it from the group. After selecting the name click on OK to confirm the removal of the participant.
Step 3: After removing all group participants, the admin needs to exit the group.
To exit the WhatsApp group, you need to open the WhatsApp group chat, tap the group subject, and select exit the group. Alternatively, you can tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab.
After you exit a group, you have the option to delete the group.
