HONOR has officially launched its latest flagship foldable smartphone, the HONOR Magic V5, for global markets. Positioned as the successor to the Magic V3, the new foldable brings upgrades in design, durability, AI features, imaging and battery performance. Here’s more about the new foldable.
The HONOR Magic V5 is available in Ivory White, Black, Dawn Gold, and Reddish Brown colour options.
It is priced at GBP 1,699.99 (USD 2,294 / approx. Rs. 2,01,025) and EUR 1,999 (USD 2,327 / approx. Rs. 2,03,890) for the 16GB + 512GB variant.
The foldable is already on sale in the UK and Europe.
The Ivory White variant of the Magic V5 stands out as the slimmest option, measuring just 8.8mm when folded and an impressively thin 4.1mm when unfolded, while weighing 217 grams. It features a 7.95-inch foldable OLED inner screen and a 6.43-inch outer display, both offering stylus input support. With Multi-Flex mode, users can multitask efficiently, running up to three apps simultaneously
Both displays deliver HDR Vivid, Dolby Vision, and ZREAL support with peak brightness up to 5000 nits. For eye comfort, HONOR has included 4320Hz PWM dimming, motion relief, natural light adjustment, and LTPO-based eye protection for reduced power consumption.
Running on MagicOS 9.0, the device integrates Google Gemini with a quick double-tap shortcut. It also includes AI-powered tools such as HONOR Notes, real-time transcription and translation, and creative features like AI Image to Video and AI Cutout.
Under the hood, the Magic V5 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It houses the AI Falcon Camera System, consisting of a 64MP Ultra Sensing Periscope Telephoto lens, a 50MP main camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. The HONOR Image Engine enhances performance with features like AI Enhanced Portrait, AI Super Zoom, and Motion Sensing Capture.
The foldable also features a Super Steel Hinge capable of withstanding over 500,000 folds, with strength rated higher than steel at 2300 MPa. Added protection comes from IP58 and IP59 water and dust resistance, an Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield, and a Carbon Fibre Reinforced Inner Display Panel.
The device packs a 5820mAh silicon-carbon battery, promising long-lasting usage without compromising the slim design.
