The upcoming Xiaomi 16 series is gearing up for launch with three models, which include Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro and the rumoured Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini. According to recent reports, all three devices have been cleared by China’s 3C certification, reinforcing speculation of a late September debut. Here’s what we know about the phones based on recent reports.
According to the 3C certification database in China, the Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro are listed under model numbers 25113PN0EC and 25098PN5AC. Meanwhile, Chinese tipsters including well-known Digital Chat Station on Weibo suggest that another device with the model number 2509FPN0BC has also been approved by the 3C authority.
This model is believed to be the Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini, although it hasn’t yet appeared on the public database.
Each certified model is paired with an MDY-18-EW charger, capable of multiple output modes, topping at 20V 5A (100W). This confirms that all three smartphones will support 100W fast charging across the lineup.
The Xiaomi 16 series is set to be the first to launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, ensuring flagship-grade performance.
The standard Xiaomi 16 may feature a compact 6.3-inch display with ultra-thin bezels, while the Pro lineup could come in 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch sizes.
The base model is rumoured to sport an OV50Q main sensor along with a telephoto lens. On the other hand, the Pro and Pro Max (or Pro Mini) variants might include a larger Smartsens sensor with periscope telephoto zoom for superior photography.
Leaks further suggest a massive 7000mAh battery on the Xiaomi 16, while the Pro Max could pack an even bigger 7500mAh unit.
The Xiaomi 16 series is expected to debut shortly after Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit, which is scheduled for September 23 to 25. The devices will likely launch in China first, which will most likely be followed by a global rollout in international markets.
