As Google gears up for the expected launch of its mid-range Pixel 8a smartphone in May, fresh leaked images have given us an early glimpse of the device’s design and key features.
The latest real-life images, shared on X by TechDroider, showcase the Pixel 8a’s refreshed look, which appears to feature a matte plastic finish on the back.
This marks a departure from the glossy rear panel of its predecessor, the Pixel 7a.
At the front, we can see the rumoured 6.1-inch display adorned with noticeable bezels, particularly around the bottom half.
However, these bezels don’t seem significantly larger than those on the Pixel 7a.
The corners of the screen exhibit a tighter curve on all four sides, lending the device a more rounded and modern aesthetic.

The device is expected to be powered by the company’s latest Tensor G3 chipset, promising enhanced performance and efficiency.
Additionally, the Pixel 8a is rumoured to boast a 120Hz OLED display, a notable improvement over the 90Hz panel found on its predecessor.
This higher refresh rate should translate into smoother scrolling and overall improved user experience.
On the imaging front, leaks point to a 64MP main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), complemented by a 13MP ultra-wide lens and a 13MP selfie snapper.
