Galaxy Z Fold 7 Leak Shows Ultra-Thin Design, Battery and Durability Details Revealed Via EU Energy Label

Highlights

  • A leaked Amazon screen protector video shows the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s incredibly slim profile, wider outer display and refined hinge gap for easier one-handed use.
  • An EU energy label leak confirms a 4,400mAh battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and class B energy efficiency.
  • The Fold 7 scores class A drop resistance, measures just 8.9mm folded, but has class C repairability and an IP48 rating.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 official reveal is just around the corner and it is going to be a buzzy few days leading up to the launch. Earlier this week, a hands-on image of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 leaked online. And now new hands-on video and a leaked EU document are giving us a closer look at the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7. There’s obviously a lot to unpack here, so here’ what we now know based on recent online reveals.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 Hands-On Video Leaked In Screen Protector Listing

An Amazon listing from a seller named WSKEN recently went live on the website. The listing includes a demo video for screen protectors made specifically for the Fold 7. The phone shown in the video may be the real deal or just a dummy unit, but it clearly highlights one thing that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 is incredibly thin when closed.

While we can’t post the video here since it is on an Amazon listing, here are some screenshots from the demo.

While the screen stays off and the back of the phone isn’t shown, the button and port placement match previous leaks. The gap between the two folded halves suggests easier one-handed opening, and the whole device looks just as slim as the Oppo Find N5.

Moreover, the wider outer display gives it a more traditional smartphone feel.

Galaxy Z Fold 7’s Battery and Durability Specs via EPREL label

In another leak, a European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL) document shared by @MysteryLupin on X spills even more details. These labels are now required under EU regulations and give insight into energy efficiency, battery performance, durability and repairability.

According to the EPREL label, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 packs a 4,400mAh battery that offers up to 40 hours and 28 minutes of use per charge and still retains 80% of its capacity after 2,000 charge cycles.

Thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and One UI 8.0, it gets a class B energy efficiency rating.

On durability, the Fold 7 scores a class A drop resistance rating, which is impressive for a device that measures just 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when open. This also means it will be thinner than the Vivo X Fold5.

However, its IP48 water and dust resistance rating is the same as last year’s Z Fold 6 and still trails behind rivals like Vivo’s IP59. Repairability is rated class C, meaning repairs could be tricky due to the complex foldable design.

The QR code on the label that’s meant to link to more specs currently leads to a blank EU database page, likely because of a 72-hour delay after launch.

Samsung is offering $50 in credit if you pre-order now from its official website.
