Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab A9 Kids Edition in Malaysia.
The device is a special edition of the Galaxy Tab A9, tailored for children’s use.
There is currently no word of it arriving on the Indian shores.
Here’s what you need to know about it.
The Galaxy Tab A9 Kids Edition comes in a single variant with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and 4G connectivity.
Samsung has priced the tablet at MYR 799 (approximately Rs 15,000) in Malaysia.
Consumers can purchase the device from Samsung’s official website for the country, while stocks last.
The Galaxy Tab A9 Kids Edition shares its core specifications with the standard Galaxy Tab A9.
However, it comes bundled with a protective Kids Puffy Case and a Crayon Stylus, designed to make the tablet more child-friendly.
The Puffy Case’s thick edges safeguard the device from drops and prevent potential harm to children if the tablet accidentally falls on them.
The Crayon Stylus allows young users to engage in creative tasks like drawing, mimicking the experience of using a crayon.
Additionally, the Kids Edition includes a 15W charging adapter in the box, a component absent from the standard Galaxy Tab A9’s packaging.
The tablet also comes pre-installed with the Samsung Kids app, enabling parents to create individual profiles for their children.
The app allows customization of each profile, including setting screen time limits, restricting access to certain applications, and monitoring online activities, protecting kids from inappropriate content.
Samsung has tailored the Galaxy Tab A9 Kids Edition to provide a secure and engaging tablet experience for young users in Malaysia.
The device’s rugged case, creative stylus, parental controls, and bundled accessories aim to strike a balance between fun and safety for children while offering peace of mind for parents.
The Galaxy Tab A9 Kids Edition is specifically designed for children, featuring a durable Kids Puffy Case to protect against drops, a Crayon Stylus for creative activities, and the Samsung Kids app for customized parental controls. These additions ensure a safer and more engaging user experience for young ones.
Currently available in Malaysia, the Galaxy Tab A9 Kids Edition can be purchased from Samsung’s official Malaysian website for MYR 799, which is approximately Rs 15,000. Availability in other regions, including India, has not been announced.
The tablet boasts an 8.7-inch display, a quad-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and a 5,100mAh battery. It runs on Android 12 OS, ensuring a smooth and responsive experience for young users.
Beyond its child-proof case and stylus, the Galaxy Tab A9 Kids Edition is preloaded with the Samsung Kids app. This app allows parents to set up profiles for their children, manage screen time, restrict app access, and monitor activity, making it a secure and customizable device for kids.
