Samsung is gearing up for the launch of its upcoming Galaxy S25 series next year.
However, the rumours and leaks have been building excitement about the upgrades for a while now. Recently, tipster Roland Quandt has shared new images of protective cases for the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra revealing a few design updates.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra case has a large cutout for four camera sensors, while the Galaxy S25 and S25+ have a triple-lens setup.
The cases show consistent button placements with power and volume cutouts on the left side across all models.
The cases confirm no additional buttons for Samsung’s new lineup unlike the iPhone 16 or OPPO Find X8 Pro
Screen protector images hint that all models, including the Ultra, will feature flatter displays with slimmer bezels, giving a sleek and modern look.
The Galaxy S25 series dimensions also surfaced via aluminium dummies. The leaked dummies reveal a slimmer profile across models.
The Galaxy S25 measures 146.94 x 70.46 x 7.25 mm, making it thinner than the Galaxy S24.
The S25+ measures 158.44 x 75.79 x 7.35 mm, also slimmer than its predecessor.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra with dimensions of 162.82 x 77.65 x 8.25 mm is both narrower and slimmer, likely due to reduced bezel size.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be powered by a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, specially optimized as a “For Galaxy” edition, built on a 3nm process.
Qualcomm claims this processor delivers a 45% boost in CPU performance and a 44% increase in power efficiency compared to previous generations.
Recent Geekbench tests for the Galaxy S25 Ultra (model SM-S938U) show impressive single-core and multi-core scores of 3,148 and 10,236, reflecting a 35% boost in single-core and a 45% increase in multi-core performance compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Samsung reportedly considered its own Exynos 2500 chipset for the Galaxy S25 series but appears to have settled on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for global models, with the Exynos 2500 possibly limited to select regions. While the S25 Ultra’s scores are slightly lower than those of the OnePlus 13’s standard Snapdragon 8 Elite (3,296 in single-core), Samsung’s custom tuning may yield better performance by launch.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to retain its 12GB RAM configuration, consistent with the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25+ was recently spotted on Geekbench with Samsung’s Exynos 2500 processor, listed as model SM-S936B for the European market.
The device scored 2,359 in single-core and 8,141 in multi-core on Geekbench 6, with a configuration of 12GB RAM running Android 15.
The Exynos 2500 chip uses a 10-core CPU with a clock speed up to 3.3GHz and features Samsung’s Xclipse 950 GPU based on AMD’s RDNA architecture, which hints at improved graphics performance. While the Exynos 2500’s multi-core score approaches that of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, it still falls behind in single-core performance.
