Samsung has traditionally launched its more affordable “Fan Edition” flagship phones towards the end of the year.
However, reports are now suggesting that the company may buck this trend with the Galaxy S24 FE, which could hit shelves as early as this summer.
If true, this accelerated timeline would see the S24 FE released several months ahead of the anticipated October unveiling.
As per The Elec, a South Korean supply chain leaker, the rumours of an early S24 FE launch is being fuelled by suppliers who have allegedly started mass-producing key components like display driver chips for the device.
What’s more, Samsung is said to be aiming for “millions” of units in the initial production run – a significant increase over last year’s S23 FE, which had a reported target of 3 million handsets.
Should the Galaxy S24 FE indeed make an appearance over the summer, it could join a packed lineup at Samsung’s expected July Unpacked event.
Alongside the budget flagship, leaks point to the company unveiling the Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Ring, and Galaxy Watch7 family at this tentpole showcase.
It is looking like an incredibly full dance card, if the speculation proves accurate.
While official details remain under wraps, the Galaxy S24 FE is rumoured to boast flagship-grade silicon in the form of the Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Couple this with a mooted 6.1-inch AMOLED display, 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and a 4,500mAh battery, and Samsung’s next budget offering could pack quite the punch – especially if it can undercut the premium competition on price.
Only time will tell if the Galaxy S24 FE manages to defy expectations with an uncharacteristically early debut.

The Galaxy S24 FE (Fan Edition) is Samsung’s upcoming budget flagship, anticipated to bring premium features at a more accessible price point.
Unlike its predecessors that usually launch in the fall, the S24 FE is rumored for a summer release, potentially offering advanced specs like the Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset earlier than expected.
Reports suggest an early debut for the Galaxy S24 FE, possibly during the summer months.
This marks a significant shift from the traditional October unveiling, placing the launch around Samsung’s July Unpacked event where it joins other high-profile releases.
The Galaxy S24 FE is rumored to feature top-tier hardware, including either an Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 6.1-inch AMOLED display, 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and a robust 4,500mAh battery, positioning it as a strong contender in the budget flagship category.
An early release of the Galaxy S24 FE could strategically bolster Samsung’s lineup, offering consumers a budget-friendly option with flagship-level specs.
This move may also complement the launch of other anticipated devices, potentially increasing Samsung’s market presence during the competitive summer season.
