Samsung’s Galaxy A33 5G, known as one of their most budget-friendly 5G offerings, is receiving its second significant OS update with the roll-out of Android 14 based OneUI 6.0.
This update forms part of Samsung’s broader update campaign that began last month, covering dozens of their phones and tablets.
However, the availability of these updates varies globally.
Initially, the Galaxy A33 5G was among the first of the more affordable Samsung models to be updated to Android 14, but this was limited to select countries.
Now, this update is expanding to additional countries, starting this week.
According to a SamMobile report, Galaxy A33 users in various parts of Asia and Europe can now access the Android 14 upgrade.
The report hints at further expansion to more countries in the near future.
With the new One UI 6.0, based on Android 14, Samsung has introduced a range of fresh features and design enhancements.
Highlights include a revamped Quick Panel layout and the introduction of a new default font.
Users will also find two innovative widgets: the Custom Camera and Weather Insight.
Additionally, there’s a new media player widget designed for notification and lock screen interfaces.
The update brings a streamlined design to the built-in Camera app and offers intuitive image editing recommendations in the stock Gallery app.
The Photo Editor within has been improved with larger control features for easier image editing.
Furthermore, the Video Editor has been rebranded as Samsung Studio, now including support for drafts.
In a notable change, Samsung has also decided to drop the ‘Samsung’ moniker from the labels of its stock apps.
The update packs in even more features and changes, as detailed in the accompanying video.
The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G features a 6.4-inch Infinity-U Display with FHD+ Super AMOLED technology, providing clear visuals even in bright conditions.
It includes a 48MP primary camera with Optical Image Stabilization, an Ultra Wide Camera, a Depth Camera, and a Macro Camera for detailed photography.
The phone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, supporting extended use and 25W Super Fast Charging.
Security is enhanced with Samsung Knox, offering protection against malware and threats.
Additional features include a 90Hz refresh rate, Exynos 1280 chipset, and IP67 certification for dust and water resistance.
