Deadpool 3’s working title will make Wolverine fans very happy

At the end of Deadpool 2, Wade Wilson, played marvellously by Ryan Reynolds, no pun intended. went back into time to make some alterations. In one of the scenes, we see Deadpool meeting with Wolverine during the events of Wolverine: Origins. Ryan Reynolds kills the scrutinised version of Fox’s Deadpool and asks Hugh Jackman to say yes when, in the future, they ask him to portray Wolverine again. Now the time has come, and Wolverine has said yes.

The Deadpool 3 release date announcement was as perfect as it could be. The most obvious spoiler for the movie was revealed in the trailer itself, which Ryan Reynolds shared on his social media to announce the sequel and revealed that Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) will appear in it.

Just as the fans eagerly anticipated the appearance of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the Avengers universe, the fans also have been waiting for Deadpool to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the MCU. Additionally, fans have long wished for these two actors to play Deadpool and Wolverine in a well-made Marvel film. Now since the wish has been fulfilled, Deadpool and Wolverine fans are in for a big surprise if this reported working title is genuine.

In the announcement video, Reynolds and Jackman teased Deadpool will be pitted against Wolverine, but they never disclosed the sequel’s title. Some Wolverine fans might have been concerned that the movie will just further Wade Wilson’s story and use the character as a glorified cameo.

However, the interviews that followed revealed that Wolverine and Deadpool would both be the main characters. In a recent interview, Ryan Reynolds made this statement without elaborating on the specifics of the story or the title.

Fans already know that Deadpool 3 will be a multiverse film. Deadpool will need to be brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s timeline by Marvel from the Fox reality. Likewise with Wolverine. The two characters may make appearances in other important Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover films.

There’s a good chance that Deadpool will return to the MCU although how many Marvel films Jackman is willing to participate in is still a mystery. For Deadpool 3, Huge is coming out of retirement.

The title of Deadpool 3 is apparently listed as “Untitled Deadpool & Wolverine Film,” according to Marvel leaker Daniel Richtman’s Patreon post. The title would be the perfect fit for the sequel, some Redditors said. According to rumours, Deadpool 3 will feature characters from the Fox universe, including the X-Men and Fantastic Four.

The major implication of that working title is that Wolverine won’t just make a brief appearance in Deadpool 3’s sequel. He’ll have Deadpool to compete with him. Other Redditors pointed out that “Untitled Deadpool Sequel” was the working title for Deadpool 2.

In a recent interview, Jackman made light of the fact that “Wolverine wouldn’t like that [Deadpool 3] title,” jokingly. It appears that Wolverine might get his way if the working title is correct. The release date for Deadpool 3 is November 8, 2024. So we have plenty of time to think about it and to watch all the previous movies with the two fan favourite characters in it.
